This is a potentially confusing thing.

Whatever 'ghosts' may be, or seem to be, I do not personally think they should be confused with your 'spirit' your spiritual essence or soul.

Your soul -- the immortal part of a human being that is hosted by our earthly, human body during this time of 'experience and development', is a very important and oft neglected thing.

This, I believe IS the part of us that goes on after our mortal self dies. Our souls transcend the mortal plane and join the host of spiritual energy that in effect is a closer realm to the Almighty, the Omnipotent, the 'Thing' that we call God.

As far as mediums go, I think that if they are not abusing people for financial gain -- and their advice/claims of contact can help some people deal with bereavement, then this is probaby ok. It may well be though that all this type of activity, even when well meaning, is no more than a sham at worst and just simply a genuinely meant, but false hope, at best. (Although, if one is being perfectly fair, maybe it is the case that, if spiritual energies can remain connected to Earth for some time after the death of the physical body, that some people are more 'sensitive' to the presence of such souls and provide a conduit for final connections?)

I am very skeptical that there really is 'contact' from the 'other side'. I think it MIGHT be possible that the spiritual forms of those we were particularly close to -- or who cared very much for us, MIGHT be able to stay a while at the early stage of their eternal voyage, and maybe this is why some folks feel they are being 'watched over'. It is a nice thought.

What I am sure of -- is that we do ourselves a great dis-service and may actually be doing ourselves harm if we FAIL to spend some time focused on our spiritual development, and realizing that we are indeed here for a greater purpose.

If we are indeed, whilst on Earth, merely a spiritual force, a kind of energy, housed in a mortal body then this is obviously for some purpose. It makes a lot of sense to me that something that is basically formless and eternal should have the chance to experience 'form', frailty, weakness, temptation, hope, love, and all the myriad of sensations that a human being can undergo. This must play a part in helping a spirit /soul to mature, learn, develop -- and potentially to 'grow'.

Equally, a badly lived life -- careless, gratification oriented, selfish, hopless, miserable, violent, etc...may well lead to diminution of the spiritual force...maybe even the loss of your soul?

It is therefore important to recognize the need to start caring for your spiritual needs.

It is a shame that much of today's world has come to focus on physicality and shallow sensation, without looking for the deeper value related to why we should have certain experiences.

Too many people fail to appreciate their faculties, fail to use them to good effect, and generally have quite miserable and unfulfilling lives...and this may be in large part because we are going through an era when we are not adequately encouraged to consider, care for and understand our own spiritual development.

You go in the ground or in an urn. A medium can tell you how much to pay them for false hope. I do not believe you have seen ghosts either, I believe you believe you have but I would bet money there is a logical explanation for what you think you saw.

Yes, I know many people who have seen and/or spoken to family members. Also, Mediums, I am not sure about them. Appears that they are coming from a very immature place when it comes to understanding basic tenants of working with Spirit. Look up Wovoka, he claimed to have been to heaven. Even when he died, he said their would be an earthquake and there was. He also said he did see white people there. Keep in mind, Wovoka and others like Black Elk came from traditions of healing and working with Spirit thousands of years old.

Tricky..i do believe in ghosts but more on a level of stale energy, not as in a soul. The scientist in me recognises that the body is an organic lifeform and will decompose just like leaf litter or a dead hedgehog. But i do feel a 'presnece' in some situations but feel it as a bad or good energy.

Yes, I've seen many ghosts and one spoke to me. Mediums are frauds, John Edwards and Fry glean their info from the queues waiting to go in. Also all those applying for a studio visit have to fill in a questionaire as to what they are hoping for weeks before the show which gives researchers time to find out about them.....

I have seen ghosts too, full body apparitions.i believe if you are a Christian, as Paul said,"To be out of the body is to be home with the Lord."
As far as non- Christians go ,I don't know.Maybe they hang around like that lady I saw floating along at an old Farm barn. Why she was there ?She didn't look at us (me and a friend) just went on by like we weren't there.

When you die you will either go to Heaven or Hell. I'm not sure if it's immediate or if we are in holding until some day in the future. I tend toward the latter on that.

As to the mediums, they're either faking or talking to demons. The dead don't talk to us except in extremely rare situations (transfiguration of Christ).

I don't ever share my beliefs, as they are personal to me. I do think that the majority of mediums are fake. Many of them use certain methods of extracting information and relaying it to a person as if they are telling them something.

Some use formula's - such as saying "there is someone in your family with a J or a H in their name".

This is a classic way of getting you to tell them of a relative with one of those letters in their name - you supply the information and they just steer you towards a conclusion.

Some people who claim to be psychic are not false though and they deserve further scrutiny. I've also been interested in the paranormal for years. The problem is that mainstream science tends to steer clear of it and many events need serious scientific investigation.

consider that in the vastness of All-That-Is, there really IS no 'other side'.
"This Side" is only perception of a limited part of All That Is.
It is entirely possible, from the vantage point of 'THIS SIDE' to consider the All That Is.
Mediums, other people, including myself, can only tell you what they have perceived, and all perception is limited to some degree.
You will find the highest truth in your own heart - be still.
