Its great that so many people have answered this question positively. Without the donor lungs that my sister received I would have lost her 10 years ago. Tragically and sadly a young woman died but by allowing her organs to be donated, she gave my sister an amazing gift of life and enabled her to stay with us for another 8 years. I could never express the gratitude I have for her gift or how I feel towards her family who in their loss of the life of their loved one, gave my loved one life. If you donate an organ in the event of your death, you quite possibly are giving everything not only to the receipient, but to their whole family and everyone who cares for them.

I am an organ donor and my family knows. I mean if I am dead and someone can use my organs to help them live, then by all means they can have them. Being an organ donor is something that almost everyone could do to help save someones life. I am all for it. I don't have a card but it states it on my drivers license.

I haven't got a donor card but I am on the register. I think there is also a part on my driving licence that say I have opted in. I think they did away with the cards and just hold details on a database. My family know, my husband doesn't 100% agree, but its my decision not his.

I carry a donor card and have for over 10 years. I have told my family about it and they completely agree, as they know it is my choice.

No, I'm not and don't wish to be. I hate the thought of having any organ donated to me. If mine don't work, that's my fate. I feel we should accept the inequalities of life. We'll never all be equal, and if we were life and the world would be unbearably dull.
I always wanted children, never had any naturally, but never considered medical intervention.
However, well done and good luck to all those who are happy to give and receive organs. That's their choice and I hope those who need and wish to receive do so. So donators, go on donating for them.

I understand the shortage and I do feel for the people waiting but I am not on the list and I will not be allowing my organs to be taken after my death. This is my own choice as I do not want my body harvested after my death.
My family are aware of this and I will also be noting it in my will.

I am, and all my family know it.
If there's anybody out there that isn't a organ donor and wants to be,
you can apply on line,
so do it now.

I'm not and have no intention of ever being on it either. I might specifically states so in my will, should i ever get around to making one. Now if I actually had any faith in the NHS, I might consider it. My family is well aware of my wishes and respect me for it.
Go on, thumb me down ... you know you want to ...
