If you are over 18 and not going to college and living at home, I see nothing wrong with it IF you are contributing financially and helping with chores. In other words no one is cleaning up after you.

If they need help and you provide it, I don't think you can ever be too old. But that means you won't have much of a private life if you expect to spend the night with someone. Then again, you don't have to spend the night with someone in order to be in a relationship. Everyone has a different take on what contact is appropriate before marriage.
Whatever you do, if you are sharing a home with your parents, you should split the bills with them, help around the house and respect their privacy and their wishes.
You are getting a tremendous benefit. You are in familiar surroundings and you're living very cheaply compared to what you would be paying for housing elsewhere. You should be building quite a nest egg with all the money you are saving. If you aren't saving your money and putting it all into the bank, you are simply crazy and truly sponging off of your parents! It would mean that you not only expect them to take care of you financially now (with the cheaper life style you have with them) but also in the future!

I think it's ok to live with your parents while you're in college (assuming you go to college straight from graduating from high school), but other than that, if you're old enough to be a legal adult and expect to be treated like one, then you're too old to live in your parent's home. ESPECIALLY if you don't help out around the house, pay rent, or respect your parents' house rules. The only exceptions would be if you had a tragedy (death of a spouse, serious accident that left you unable to care for yourself, or house burned down, etc) where you would need to move back in with your parents for 2-3 months while until you get back on your feet again, or if you are providing care for a parent who is unable to physically care for themselves.

The answer depends on if the person is the care taker of an ailing parent, then the age question you are posing doesn't apply. But if the person is just living with their parents so that they don't have to pay any bills on their own; then I think by the age 25, a person should have at least their own apartment.

Well if I was dating, and my boyfriend brought me back to his house which was his parents house, and he was 30 it would raise serious questions! I would want to know why he still chose to live with his parents. If it was because of the "free ride' I would say bye bye. If he was helping them out financially and was taking care of them it would be different.
I would say the age is probably 28. There should be some direction by then

It all depends on the situation. But i think that those people who can get out there, are old enough and able to work and take care of themselves should move out, preferably after they are done with school. If they're still in the house past 30, doing nothing with their lives and still waiting for mommy and daddy to feed them, give them ALL the money they ever get, do their laundry, etc, that's just failure to launch..

It depends on the situation. I left home at 18. I went back at 45 to live with my mom because she could not take care of herself anymore. We were both fine with that.

There is no upper age limit. Some people stay with there parents all there life, and are much better off for it. As long as your comfortable, your not too old!

It truly depends. If you are a continuing student, then i feel that you can stay until 30. If you are just living at home to live at home, you need to get out.
