This is the root of the abortion problem. Attaching emotional responses to medical procedures.
PS. My sympathies are with you regarding your loss.

They view a miscarriage as the body aborting or a natural abortion of a child that is not developing properly. So much controversy over the word has taken it away from the proper definition.
My wife had 3 miscarriages and we know that we lost someone precious.
Talk to your doctor and see if he will just say that he performed the d/c for the record.

Abortion in medical terms just means a termination of pregnancy in which the fetus dies. However, they usually call miscarriages "spontaneous" abortions, to distinguish them from "induced" (intentional) abortions. Your next doctor should know the difference, and if he or she doesn't, I would be concerned and start looking for another doctor.
If you are emotionally bothered by the language, you have the right to ask them to change it, but policies vary.

Because in medical terminology, any interrupted pregnancy is listed as an abortion. It doesn't mean anything, it's just terminology, regardless of how it happened. Your next doctor will ask you if it was a "spontaneous" or "therapeutic" termination, at which time you can explain it was spontaneous. It's unfortunate that an otherwise accurate term for an interrupted pregnancy has taken on such enormously negative connotation.
I'm very sorry for your loss. I wish you well for the future. Don't lose hope.

Abortion is the scientific word for all fetus deaths prior to birth. I'm an EMT and have had this in class. Abortion is not necessarily what most people think it is. It isn't intended as a judgemental issue. I can understand your concern, but don't let it bother you. As long as you know the difference, that is all that matters.

Are you sure the paperwork doesn't say "spontaneous abortion"? Because that would just be medical terminology for miscarriage.
I am very sorry to hear about your loss, Hun.
If the papers do, indeed, say "abortion", and you have concerns, as you should, perhaps you ought to discuss them with a lawyer.

I'm really sorry for your terrible experience and painful loss. To answer your question, "spontaneous abortion" is another term for miscarriage, and is the term often used by physicians and hospitals. This is different from "artificial abortion," which is the medically induced termination of pregnancy. Best wishes for your recovery.

An incomplete miscarriage is considered an abortion even though your child was demised because they had to give you meds. like phenalbarbitol and antiarhymmic drugs and because your child was still inside your womb that's why . And I am truly sorry for your loss.

Incomplete abortion is medical terminology for a miscarriage, hon. Abortion is the term for an interrupted pregnancy, whether it's spontaneous or induced. I'm sorry for your loss.
