I don't think you should EVER mix alcohol w/any antidepressant/medication! You will just end up making the situation worse (whatever the reason for taking Prozac is in the first place)! I had a friend that chose to drink while taking anti-depressants & they ended up taking their own life!!

Warning labels usually tell you that mixing alcohol with certain medications will enhance their side effects, which means that you might get sleepy or drowsy. Or you might nullify the effects of the prozac that you're taking. Either way, moderation is the key if you must have that drink!

Prozac can make you more succeptable to the 'down' you can get from alcohol. Even tho it is designed to highten your mood, on alcohol it can do quite the opposite.

Other than that.. it can also make you pass out REALLY quickly as it already can make you drowsy by itself.

If you choose to drink I would definately do it in moderation and Eat something. Stay away from red wines, margaritas, tequilia. Stick with clear liquors they seems to not increase depression as much...or white wine..

Drinking is dangerous. But even more so when you mix drugs too. I hope you will forget even trying it. Take care, and stay safe. Think of your loved ones who will be very hurt if you get sick.
