If we cannot judge God, why do Christians say he is good?

Question

If we (limited humans) cannot comprehend God (who is infinite), what right do we have to say he is good or bad? right or wrong?

If you believe what he told you, haven't you judged him to be honest?

U arnt judging GOD when u say he is good.U are just acknowleding the quality of GOD.Judging actually means something like this u make some mistake and a group of people just sits around u and discuss about the punishment u need to undergo.But if u see someone cheating what would u do.Wont u tell him thats its wrong.Does that mean u are judging .Surely u arnt.Because the bible says"Thou shall not bear false witness".because we know its wrong we have every right to tell its wrong.But its wrong to judge what punishment he has to go for doing that wrong.GOD is a good GOD.we wont be judging him because he is a good GOD.thats one of his quality.We are just telling his quality like many other like holy,merciful,loving,graceful,gentle,slow to angry all these are qualities of GOD.But u cant say everything is wrong based on ur own set of rules.U need to have a common set of rules that apply to all.So u need bible which is the book to know good from bad.

But GOD will one day judge the world and will sent some to hell and some to be with him.To be with him u need to recieve forgiveness from GOD through JESUS.

"For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoso ever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life".Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with his blood.

Saying that God is good is not a judgment, it is just a fact. For lack of an equal example I'll just say that everyone who likes ice cream are not making judgments when they say ice cream is good, it is just the nature and fact of ice cream to be good. The same goes for God the Father. He breaths life into us every day, supplies the air we breath, keeps us while we sleep, looks over our families, loves us even when we do wicked things (Romans 5:8), and will never leave or forsake us (we are the one who do the forsaking). On top of that, God knew that man would break fellowship with Him the minute man had a selfish thought so God purposed to send a Savior or a substitute to stand in and take the punishment that all man kind deserves for all the sin we commit. It is God's love that sent Jesus, it is God's love that blesses us with grace and mercy, and it is God's love that will see us through all eternity if we believe in and follow Him. So once again, GOD IS GOOD!! And that's just a fact!!

Of course we can discern good or bad and judge between them!

I never knew Christians felt differently (I am pagan). If they believe you cannot judge the goodness or badness of a diety then that is a little scary. Perhaps it would explain why people do bad things and then say, "God told me to do it."

They forget we have BRAINS and we can discern good and bad. If a magestic, angelic vision were to come before you and ask you do kill other people, you do not just GO AHEAD and do it because it appears to be God-like.

This is not judging God. This is like a child saying his Dad is good. Is that child judging his Dad? No, he is expressing his thanks and admiration--but not judging. Just as a mere child can not have enough basis for judging his father, mere humans do not have enough basis for judging God.

You are using the word "judge" in an ambiguous manner. Since God is good, we cannot judge Him to be evil (judge = "condemn somebody"), but we can "form [an] opinion of somebody or something" concerning God.

Reason #3- He is all forgiving.

I can't judge god, but I can judge your question as childish and incendiary.

God lovers will believe what they believe.

You won't believe what you don't believe.

I'm an apathetic agnostic and could care less if god is good or bad or is or isn't.

What I do care about is letting people be what they are: Christian, atheist, or in your case, troublemaker.
