I agree. Microwave. I don't even want to know what they put in the bag to help it cook. Also, read the labels fo microwave popcorn. My husband got me some Kroger (grocery store) brand microwave popcorn becuase it was butter-free. The box said "natural". The ingredients listed partially hydrogenated oil. There is NOTHING natual about hydrogenated oil, even if it is "only" partially.

Also, air popped is cheaper. I can get a one pound bag for less than $1.50, even less than a dollar, depending on the store. I melt some Smart Balance spread (it's like margarine, excpet that it's made with 100% natural oils; None of that partially or fully hydrogenated stuff) to put on it and a little bit of salt (sometimes, if I think about it, some garlic salt; I've thought about it, but not done it, to put some taco seasoning on it) and I'm set.

Anything that is cheaper and healthier works for me. (Okay. the SmartBalance isn't cheaper than margarine, but it's healther and natural. I can't say that about margarine.)

like "Survivors Ready?" said, air-popped just uses air to cook the popcorn, no oil, so no added fat. But also no added flavor. Microwave popcorn bags contain oil & salt & all kinds of yummy things that are bad for you.

If you get natural popcorn, for either the micro or the air popper, they are neither any better..
You can get mic popcorn that is just as healthy as the other..
As for bland, get the no-salt and put that on it, and that will help, but, don't over-salt as then it tastes gross.

Microwave. With airpop you can control the amount of butter, oil and salt you put on, making it a much healthier alternative to the bags you stick in the microwave.

Microwave is worse. Air-popped popcorn uses nothing but air to cook. It's nasty...ok not nasty, btu very bland (like eating ricecakes!).

definitely microwave because they still use oil, butter, and some flavourings. However they are both bad on teeth and can break or crack them
