Correct me if I'm wrong, but nomatter whether you believe the temperature change is man-influenced or not, melting ice, disrupted ocean currents, disrupted weather patterns, gigantic plumes of ocean bacteria are all BIG PROBLEMS anyway...why try to suppress ANY evidence, UNLESS it's man made?

First off, "Everyone" is a moronic word to use. It suggests that you have met and spoken to all 6,000,000,000+ people on this planet to ask them. Second, the computer you just typed that question on is hot, a man-made heat source adding to global warming.

At the same time we have high heat, somewhere else in the world is having record colds and storms. Colorado over the winter is a great example.

Another concept is that of the orthodox religionist who might feel that this is perhaps just part of the "last days".

Why would the world have an ice age? Man didn't create that, perhaps this is just the effect of the world, as previously suggested, doing its thing.

Don't assume "everyone" agrees with you, it's a surefire way to lose friends and look extremely ignorant.

Yes it has been warming since the ice age. I prefer to focus on the good things about global warming. It will provide more plant growth and solve world hunger.

It is really nothing that we should worry about, significant warming will take millions of years and if it is part of the suncycle Which recent evidence says it is, then it is probably relatively short term. The same type of scare occurred about 20 years ago when everyone was crying and wringing their hands that we were going into another ice age if we did not get rid of hydrocarbon emmissions. this is all just cycle that we have no control over so just relax.,

Let me see we had a winter storm in the midwest this April. It snowed here where I live in April. It never snows here in April by the way.

When I was a teenager the ice age was just around the corner and we had global cooling

Its pop science with no proof. It is being used to scare you into accepting regulations the goverment will us to control and tax us with

Global warming? sure it happens. As does global cooling.

Is it a problem? Oh please? Get a life. Start worrying about something real

The arguement is political not scientific.

Global warming is REAL. Science confirms it is happening.
No arguement there.

However when it comes to what we are supposed to DO about it, problems arise.

There are the rich oil companies and industries. They are lobby the Republican right who have Evangelicals as their key supporters.

So things start to get complicated even though it really shouldn't be.

The reason for the debate about whether its man-made or not is because if is, the left wants to use that as an excuse to micromanage everyone's life. And if its not man-made the right wants to use that as an excuse to do absolutely nothing to protect the environment.

Yes the earth is warming, Yes it will cause problems. The key is whose problems will they be. If you have millions of dollars they will be someone elses problems. Its poor people who will be most effected. If you live in the northern US or Canada it may actually be benificial, if you live in Africa well your screwed.

who is suppressing information? its on the news almost every day despite there being no news, there is a worldwide rock show style traveling show, movies and endless documentaries and articles.
the argument revolves around the remedy of wealth redistribution (the Democrat's answer to everything). it is just being used as another attack on big business.
