The minister is right, for the most part, at least in my eyes - as a nation we face more and more problems like he mentioned. God instilled a moral code which has been fading away. Many Chaplains to Congressional/ Official settings serve multiple duties in their position. None, to my knowledge are denominationally select, nor do they REQUIRE the officials to partake in the activities. I had the opportunity to hear the US Senate Chaplain Barry Black speak on a couple of occassions. On the website concerning the position - Dr. Black's position, as an officer of the Senate, duties include counseling and spiritual care for the Senators, their families and their staffs, a combined constituency of six thousand people. Chaplain Black’s days are filled with meeting Senators about spiritual and moral issues, assisting Senators’ staffs with research on theological and biblical questions, teaching Senate Bible study groups, encouraging such groups as the weekly Senate Prayer Breakfast, and facilitating discussion and reflection small groups among Senators and staff. For leaving makes those officials hypocrites - he is promoting his freedom of speech - a part of the very Constitution they swore to uphold! Their leaving shows the government's bias for politically correct talk and actions - not for what is right.

Minister Joe Wright was absolutely right in his prayer. His prayer was a very good one, however to pray it in the session of the Kansas senate would be a violation of church and state laws. I know that as long as we agree with the prayer, we think it is a good one, but what if it was a muslim praying to his god to annialate all christians, or whatever. We then would not like it. We need to keep state and church separated in order to allow all to worship according to their own consciences, and not breach anyones right to worship how they will. These are good prayers to pray at home and at church, but they should be kept out of politics.
