Switch and Sometimes Mastercard might work.
US can not get just get a Maestro card. Only a limited number of merchants in the U.S. take maestro. Even at those places that don't take maestro card but take Nyce, Star, pulse, etc. The card still could work because they have shared agreement. Some U.S. card have the maestro symbol on it, so it can be used internationally.

Switch was rebranded in the UK to Maestro. So that should work for an online purchase if it's the UK-based arm of HSBC.
If, on the other hand, you're using an HSBC debit card from US-based HSBC Direct, it won't work. Those cards can't be used on the internet because they require a PIN.

Is the card number a sequence of six numbers a space, then a sequence of 12 numbers? If so, heres what they mean: first six digits: digits one to four are unique to the card digits five and six are the first two digits of your sort code second set of twelve digits digits 1 to 4 are the rest of your sort code the remainder is your account number. If you memorise your sort code which is very easy to do, then memorise your account number which is just like remembering a phone number all that leaves is the first four digits - memorise that and you can quote the whole 18 digit number in one go just recall the following Unique code (1234) Sort Code (01-23-45) Account Number (12345678)
