Happiness is the goal of Buddhism. The laughing statue of Buddha reminds all Buddhists to live in harmony with everything and that happiness can only achieve when you are free of evil and material desires. But remember, Buddha not always laugh or smile. Al thought Buddha and many of his students have been enlightened, they also feel sad - sad for our human race / that is why they are everywhere to help people who needs them!
