If we were made in "god's image":
This must not mean "physical" image (or "fleshly" as another put it today), because then god would look like a primate (which humans are, see taxonomy of homo sapiens), and that wouldn't make sense, right?
It must not mean "mental" image either, because I know I can't contemplate the thoughts of 6 billion people on the planet at all times and understand all of physics, etc.
Someone said it is a "spiritual" image. So, what is that?

He looks like a green mist that flashes red when someone cuts him off in heaven.

We cannot KNOW what God looks like. Elijah (I think) saw the back of God. We were created in God's image, not animals, US.
I've learned in my own studies that being created in the image does not mean "I look exactly like". Adam and Eve, in their sin, broke the covenant with God, thereby making way for changes to occur. Still, we, MAN/WO-MAN were created in God's image.

~~~~ Tiktalli ,,,, If you don't take into account the Science of Astrology (I'm not an astologer) then one cannot understand that this is a reference to The Seven Known Planets of the time and how they correspond to The Seven Chakras of the Human Body and the interplay between The Self and The Music of The Spheres. ,,,"As above, so below.",,, "As on earth as it is in heaven",,,"Sacred Seven",,, etc, etc,,,,
God is separate and distinct from all other types of creation, yet miraculously, He is not emotionally detached from us. He is perfect in every aspect of His existence. He is the Creator, we are the created. His traits are in Him limitlessly. He is them and they are Him, (as in God is love), Having said that, we have some of His characteristics in us. The capacity for great love, compassion, creativity, higher thinking, awareness, knowledge, things like that.
I asked something similar long ago.... I think.
Only reason God would have to make us physical is to make us suffer and limit our power or progress.
