I want to lower my 800m time in the space of 3 months. Im starting core work on top of my training, ann doing circuits and gym workouts on top of my running when I can.
Its currently at 1.59 but if I can get it to a 1.54 I can get a scholarship, I know its a big ask, but is it possible???

yes track is one of the only sports u must progress thought out the year im pretty sure u wasnt running 1.59 soon as u started. but as a tip train for a 900m get as least a 2.15 sprint the last hundered every single time. then run the 800m at the 700m yu'll have 200m left in u not 100m so take a deep breath and hall *** make sure u sprint pass the finish line. i respect for running because it takes balls and big ones at that to run and even to train. good luck.

Along with what the other guy said, working with others who are just as fast as you are maybe even faster helps you give yourself that extra push, especially while training. Haven't you ever noticed that during races you seem to do so much faster? I believe that running with others who are running as hard as they can makes you want to run even harder than they are, thus making you run faster than you usually do during practices and whatnot. Competition is a good thing and I agree that you should go with people in your speed range.

It is possible, especially if you train for five days a week for those three months, maybe even more if you want! Though you should caution yourself, overworking and overtraining can really injure you. What you're doing sounds fine, but just remember that there should be days when you go all out on running and have little rest. Be sure you're at the right cardio level and that you're running faster every time or running for longer distances. :) I prefer running longer distances AND running those distances faster each time I do them since that seems to help.

Again, it is possible. Set your mind to it, train hard and PROPERLY, and try to get someone in your speed range to train with you. Not only will it benefit the both of you through friendly competition, it will also help to make it feel like real races every now and then instead of just running for practice.

Absolutley, and although if your already at 1:59 which is quite good, then you amy need training from someone who is phenominal. If you know of anyone that is faster, ask them if you can pace them and train with them. Buddy system always works
