this in math terms is called the lowest common denominator; or what you both have in common. You probably hated fractions too.
In English your question sounds more like a statement than a question, and it only will offend or hurt them that care one way or other, the rest of us are just amused to be here and it means we have too much time on our hands.
Actually this is probably better than TV which pipes in their own laughter in case you didn't get the joke?
