Why don't the spiritual / religious realize that their believe is just old recycled other religious stories ?

Dead religions (myths / legends) have the same type of things in them that modern religions have . Modern religion is born of the dead religions .

Because the faithful (who ever they are and whatever they believe) are all firmly convinced that they (and only they) know the truth.

To have fervent faith you can't believe in just myths it must be (it has to be) the truth. To bend logic this far around the corner you have to have an unyielding orthodoxy that divides the world into us and them, saved and damned, enlightened and ignorant.

Religion doesn't have all the zealots. There are plenty of political and social movements that have been equally as enthusiastic and / or pathological.

People need a purpose for living and often find that purpose outside of themselves. This isn't always a bad thing though too much of any good thing can be awful.

Personally what scares me is, no matter how moral and good I am, there are people out there who are willing to punish me for not believing in what they believe. And if we start bringing in older faiths, the idea that there are other dialogs with the divine -well then your undermining the very foundations of every modern faith and questioning if they too will go extinct.

I can only answer for he Christian belief. Romans 1:20 - "For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributed are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse." So, Christians believe that since the beginning of time, God has revealed Himself to men. That is why you see all of these old beliefs, myths and legends that seem to have so many similarities, they are all man's search for the truth, which God is faithful to deliver.

God / Jehovah is unchanging. Why would we look for changes in his word.
He never intended that his laws be changed down the road,especially by others who had no rights.
He set down rules to live by. The people are the same, the earth is the same, so where does recycling come in?
It's just man wanting to control others and they won't be controlled.Time has shown that man's control over others just hurts people.

I think that if someone has a particular belief system... if it's not hurting anyone.. then others should leave them alone and not try to suggest that they're wrong or brainwashed or whatever.

I just feel that there is way too much 'attacking' of other peoples beliefs.. whether they believe in a God.. or believe in no God.. or different Gods or.. whatever..

What does it hurt us to treat others with respect? Yes, it's fine to share our beliefs, but why try to put someone down because of theirs?

thought people who lived in civilzed world would research about the topic before opening their mouths..but i was worng there are many lose cannons who are too lazy n thick headed to research ,they'd sit back watch the western Media which does nothing but plunder islam,..eat whatever crap they r being fed....and then make assumptions which are nothing but false..I ask ppl here who have bashed islam in every possible way they could find...have u read the quran??...if NOT then shut up n move on...and if YES!! then paste me the stuff that bothers you...
Islam is a peace loving religion...every muslim man ,woman and child knows that.If due to your own lack of knowledge you hate islam its not anyones fault Infact i think becasue ISLAm is soo right without any loopholes or confusion about soo many things...Our holy book is not tampered with or changed by men..the very fact that it has no contradiction in it...proves it is without any fault..and these FACTS , facts that no one can change, fear them who fear or hate islam...anyone who claims..that bible has not changed..does not contradict with itself...please RESEARCH YOUR RELIGION THROUGHLY and then REsearch ISLAm and see what u find...all it will take is some of your time...nothing more...i think that is fair!!...
..and people who judge islam through 9/11...all i got to say is..u ppl have a very tunnel vision..and people like you who bash the religion n generalise it...we can do the same..but will not stoop to your level...cause islam teaches respect for other religions as well..and that is the reason u will find more non muslims bashing muslims n islam then muslims bashing any religion....Peace!
