Why should America open its borders and decriminalize the crime of entering our country illegally?

Here is a column I read from a pro illegal allien group:
"On the street, true immigration reform means: fixing the family reunification system so families won't be separated; legalization for the undocumented without incremental phases that stretch out for years; due process and equal rights for immigrants; immigrant worker freedom from exploitation and employer abuse, and an end to criminalization of immigrants on the border and in the interior."

Why should America open its borders for them?

the borders should be closed. Why should we decriminalize the criminals? They are criminals and must suffer the consequences of their actions. They are the cause of the deportations. If families are split up they only have themselves to blame.

I hate the term "undocumented." It make it should like these criminals only deserve a parking ticket!

We shouldn't open our borders and let everybody come as they please because if we do it then we wouldn't have a country to be proud of. WE the USA will turn into a chaos nation with out laws and that it will be bad for every American citizen and to expensive to live in. If what this illegal asked is so good, why is it that the country of Mexico where the majority of the illegals come from, have tough laws against legal and illegal immigration. It is up to the Americans who come and stay in the USA, not to any foreign government of illegal aliens living here. I suggest to the illegals in our country to go back to their country and work hard as they claim they all do here in the USA so their country would become better to live in. Then they could invite every swinging person that want to come illegally or legally to their country. About our beautiful and proud country the United States of America, we don;t need illegals by the millions and millions, so they could all go back to their country of origin. You all have a nice trip..

If Americans had their way they wouldn't and the penalties and fines would be greater , but we don't have anything to say about it , do we ? Seems that Congress as well as President Bush want the borders open and amnesty for the illegals that are here and those that are coming . They are working for the North American Union and NAFTA Super Highway .
Congress knows about it and yet they do nothing to stop it .
Americans had better wake-up ,before it's to late and we'll all be speaking spanish in the next 10 yrs.

I think what is happening in the pro-illegal immigration movement is that there is hope that enough illegal aliens speak up and demand continued free eduation, medical care, and driver's license's, and INSTANT US CITIZENSHIP, then a political representative will give them a voice, and thus legal rights as REAL Americans. This amounts to "Bum-rushing" our political system for their own selfish gains. "12 million wrongs, don't make it right" You see, politicians are like lawyers... they lie to get their way! In this case, the politicians, (generally, hispanic, or sympathetic to them) can get VOTES for their own selfish agenda. They are pandering to constituents who have broken the law as their first official task of entering the US! Politicians want votes. Lawyers help immigrants and politicians get votes, and the State governments Motor Vehicle Departments allow ANYONE, even if they are not CITIZENS to REGISTER to VOTE AMERICAN issues!

We absolutely should not. It's like telling a bank robber that we have to keep his family together so we give him a free pass while letting them keep the money they stole in the process.

It's time to prosecute all illegals and those who hire, harbor and help them. If they want to avoid prosecution, they should simply leave the country. We won't stop them. Take their children with them -- that's the best family reunification I can think of .

That sure as hell isn't what it means on OUR street!

Our schools are failing and all school priority is towards the 'difficult' ESL demographic, a huge portion of which would not be here if their parents hadn't come illegally.

These groups are preaching to themselves and are trying to give 'cover' to congressmen who can be persuaded to do what they want.

Lets be realistic people....its not only the "illegals" that are causing these things to fail. We have just as many white people, and african americans doing the same things.

Its not a race issue or an "illegal" issue. Its a just plain people issue. Get over it already!
