I'm worried that when I wake up tomorrow morning my eyes will look even worse. I've been splashing loads of cold water in them but it hasn't made much difference to the puffiness. How can I get rid of the puffiness?

Wow thanks everyone, I didn't expect so many answers! I was crying because this guy at work was really talking down to me and being sarcastic and aggresive.I feel really annoyed with myself because I didn't really stand up for myself becuase I was too choked up to speak. He's so disrespectful and a bully. He should know better at his age- he's in his fifties. I'm only 21 but I think I could teach him a ton of stuff about good manners and how to treat people with respect. Anyway I'll stop ranting now!

Aww, first of all feel better. I'll pray for you whatever it is! Things will always get better. =]

Anyways, it should go down by tomorrow morning. Try warm water, that may help.

What may be even better to get rid of the puffiness is putting a nice warm compress on the eyes while closed, [get a towel and make it warm by running it under hot water] and leave it on for about a minute, and do it about three times.

If it really doesn't go away, there may just be an infection in your tears or somewhere in your eyes. See a eye doctor if it doesn't go away by tomorrow.

Some options:

1) Try putting some ice cubes in a wash cloth or towel, lay back and put them on your puffy eyes for about 5-10 minutes or so. You don't want the cold wetness, just the cold so avoid dowsing your eyes with water.

2) Over night you could cut two thin slices of cucumbers and place them on your eyes and sleep on your back over night if you are really worried it won't go away.

3) Go to the drug store and buy some puffiness reducers, some brands like Olay, Ponds and Aveno carry them.

Honesty... go take a long bath, light some candles and relax. The puffiness will go away over night.

Man, I know exactly how that feels. Bio freshman year (a senior now). Dont be too upset over it, try to make other friends in the class from now onwards. But for the moment, suck it up (im sorry for putting it so harshly, but i stop crying when i decide to tough it up) and go talk to your teacher about finding a new group. Truthfully you'll either be stuck with a group of 3 girls who are think they're the sh!t, and you'll end up standing there awkwardly while they do all the work for you. Or you'll be stuck with another 3 people who each dont have a group, and theres a reason for it. Also think about it, is it your fault? Does your grade suck in the class? Itll be less awkward to work on your own truthfully, and you could at least try asking the teacher. If it makes you feel any better, I have no friends in 3 out of my 6 classes. In one of them, the teacher talks most of the time so its cool (though iono what ill do about the group project), the other one theres a guy who sits next to me and TALK THE ENTIRE FKING TIME annoying the hell out of me because im sleeping while he's talking to me! Gotten used to it though his running commentary is still annoying during movies we watch in class (where i have to stay awake). The girl in front of me annoys me like mad too; she's the type thats a hypocritical goody goody who keeps on freaking touching me! The other class I just learned to put up with. I signed up with 4 or 5 friends, and ALL of them got into the other period, while i got stuck alone. Made a new friend, and he transferred out. Made another new friend and she transferred outta the class too. Sucks cause im overly social, but we get access to a computer so im talking on aim or tumblring the entire time. Trust me, a lot of people go through this type of dilemma. It sucks when you have that kind of luck, but im sure itll all work out! Plus you get more work done during class if you're alone :)

Employ a cold compress. Dunk a washcloth in cool water (or wrap ice cubes in a washcloth) and place it on your closed eyes, also Apply a cold tea bag wrapped in tissue. Tea contains tannin, a natural astringent. "The tannin in the tea may help pull the skin taut and reduce puffiness

Puffyness should go away within about fifteen minutes to a half an hour after a crying episode. When you wake up tomorrow your eyes should be just as they are every day, whether you cried or not the day before.

Couple of cotton wool pads soaked in cold water should help. Lie down for half an hour with them over your eyes. Re-wet when they get warm.

Wring out a facecloth in cold water and gently lay it over your eyes. Leave it on for some time, just keep making it cold

Try pouring ice-water on a face cloth, folding it over and placing it over your eyes. That might help, though generally the only thing that works is time.
