My brother's check ($143- NY) was deposited as well on my back account and I din't not have a problem
Somehow I am afraid with this state refund ($2000). can someone tell me if i could proceed the same way for her checks?

Legally, she needs to sign the checks before you deposit them. Did she ask you to cash them for her? Unless you illegally sign her name on the back of the checks, there is probably not a way that you can deposit them into your account-especially such a large amount as that check is without her signing it over to you herself.

You'll have to send her the check and she'll have to endorse it over to you and return it to you so that you can deposit it. She should write on the back: "Pay to the Order of "Your Name", and then sign her hame directly below that statement and then "For Deposit Only" directly under her signature.

Of course, "Your Name" gets replaced with your name. The "For Deposit Only" line prevents anyone from cashing it if it should get lost in the mail coming back to you.

Then deposit it in your account and withdraw whatever you need from your account.

Legally, you have 2 options. She can endorse the checks to you, or she can give you a Power of Attorney to cash them for her. In either case, SHE has to sign something and send it to you. If she needs the money quickly, can you loan her the money until she returns to the country?

Legally she needs to endorse the check over to you for you to be able to deposit it into your account. Any other way would be fraud and could get you into serious trouble.

She needs to take care of her business. Mail her the check and let her deal with it. She has a problem with the bank that froze her account and needs to pay that bank what she owes.

I will not help you commit fraud.

If she wants the cash, she can take care of it. You need to get your nose out of it.
