what is considered "magic" from a christian perspective?

this question arose from the fact that i do qigong meditation and have read some articles saying it's wronge in terms of christianity.I know the bible teaches against sorcery and such,but what is considered to be sorcery.im pretty sure if i went back in time with my iPod i would be stoned.my definition of "magic" in the bible is conjuring demons ,anything not naturally bestowed,or not from God for personal gain.what do you think?

The Bible strongly condemns the practice of spiritism, mediums, occult, psychics, etc. (Leviticus 20:27; Deuteronomy 18:10-13). Horoscopes, tarot cards, astrology, fortune tellers, palm readings, séances, etc., fall into this category as well. These practices are based on the concept that there are gods, spirits, or deceased loved ones that can give you advise and guidance. These “gods” or “spirits” are demons (2 Corinthians 11:14-15). The Bible gives us no reason to believe that deceased loved ones can, or would even want to contact us. If they were believers, they are in heaven, enjoying the most wonderful place imaginable – in fellowship with a loving God. If they were not believers, they are in hell, suffering the un-ending torment for rejecting God’s love and rebelling against Him.

Anything that doesn't come from faith, in G-d is sin. However, you know how Jesus healed the sick with a touch? Or how he spit in the dirt and made salve so that a blind man could see again? Or how his disciples used handkerchiefs or cloths to bring healing? Or others in the bible like Moses raising his staff to part the sea? These are supernatural things and are brought about with a "medium" or substance... for instance a compassionate hand... the salve... or the cloths... Moses' staff... in the items themselves, there is no power. It is how you use these things and how you put your faith in motion by them that is effective. Also, when you do this, look for G-d. It may take time, but there is always a result. To be an instrument of G-d's will, your heart has to be changed. If it is not filled with love for G-d and faith and trust in Him, anything you do can become destructive. If you have one shred of controlling desire, or one shred of selfishness etc. as you do what you do... you will not be able to do G-d's perfect will, and that isn't Christian. It is also very dangerous. Thinking/meditating is good, as long as you are thinking/meditating upon what G-d would want you to meditate on. Healing... compassion for others... Jesus... etc. and not other gods or any negetive things.

What is considered magic really depends on the kind of Christian you are.

Many Protestants call Catholics sorcerers and witches.

Many object to things like Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Yoga and the like come from non Christian faiths. The fear is that they will bring with them non-Christian influences.

Mature Christians can discern but baby Christians may be taken up by it.

For instance I had a vision of Ganesh once while doing yoga at home. I didn't know who or what it was at the time. But curiosity prompted me to investigate. A baby Christian may have thought this apparition to be proof that this is the right faith.

Then again, there are those faiths who see the demonic at every turn. They will tell you that doing yoga or tai chi IS conjuring demons.

There is a sad breach where "meditation" itself is thought to be witchcraft. The very idea of "Christian Meditation" brings a look of horror to some.

Sheer nuttiness.

Christians have been meditating since the time of Christ. It's called silent prayer. You sit, you turn your soul to the Lord and you listen.

Well, qigong meditation is not magic, If have to fell that you have to do this and say this at night ONLY then it could be bad thing anybody should feel free to do something like that meditation at any time of the day.

The Bible says that no longer something is to be extra or taken far off from the Holy Bible. including something, the quran, any buddhist records or writings, including the e book of Mormon, this is not correct, the Bible says for no longer something to be extra or taken away. for this reason i does no longer evaluate a mormon as a Christian. no longer that i'm casting hatred upon them. i'm as lots of a sinner as every person, and that i want the grace of God as much as every person, yet God is sparkling in the time of scripture to stick to his be conscious, and his be conscious on my own. yet another factor I even have is that when the Bible exchange into prepare, the apostles of Jesus had to jot down it, or approve of the guy who wrote it. for occasion James, he exchange into no longer an apostle, yet he exchange into the brother of Jesus, and the apostles agreed that it exchange into nonetheless okay to have. additionally Luke exchange into no longer an apostle, yet he exchange into accredited to jot down a gospel alongside with matthew mark and john. if magic is only a game like light hand and something funny it is ok but if you mean magic like black magic this is the point cause any magic is related to divel and i reconfirm any magic and as soon as you related to the divel in any relation you will be against god and christianity so pls pls pls think hard about wat r u doing
