Why are you praying to win the lottery? If you won the lottery, would you give ALL of it away? Or do you REALLY want to win so that you can have riches?
It doesn't take a whole lot to become a worshipper of money. How much harder it must be to stay faithful if you actually win the lottery! Maybe as hard as it is for a camel to go through the eye of a needle?
God doesn't need your money - he can work with out it. But what he wants is a heart, undivided, given fully to Him. All you should want or need is God - not a boost in your checking account.

You can pray to win the lottery or whatever, but God will help you do only the things that are good for your soul. Now you can't be sure that it's good for your soul to win the lottery. Why don't you try to pray for something that helps others? Donig unselfish things is a must.

If you want to pray to God to win the lottery go ahead. I don't think there is anything necessarily wrong with it, I just like to think the Divine put those prayers farther down on the list in relation to things like Global Warming, World Hunger, and personal crises.

You'd be praying against God's Word, it states in Proverbs,
money gained quickly is a curse.
Plus, the love of money is the root of all evil. Not money, but
the love of it. Wasted prayer time.

God only answers prayers when he thinks it will benefit you as a human being. If he feels that winning the lottery will pull you away from Him, he's not going to let you. Normally, His decisions are sensible.

Pray for it if you like. Bear in mind that lots and lots of others will also be praying. It'd be a miracle if hundreds of thousands all won at once, wouldn't it?

You can pray for whatever you want. That doesn't mean that God will answer your prayers.

I would think it is because we would be praying for 'greed'. It is another, to ask for enough to feed our children, to keep them safe, etc. It is another to pray for more than we need, isn't it?

You can pray, no rule against that. Hope you get what you want, but its always better to get what you NEED.
