There are many reasons why the price varies wildly, condition, rust, chrome, trim, interior color and condition. What motor it has, is it original, do all the numbers match? You can check out classic car magazines to get an idea of what people are selling Chevelles for. Alot of cities have car clubs, inquire if there are any in your city, the people involved with the clubs are very knowledgeable, and have many contacts for buyers and sellers.

That depends on so many factors. What trim level? What condition? Engine/tranny combo? 2 Door or 4 Door? Location of the car? Different areas have different markets. Any original documentation? Etc. Etc. Etc.

I've got a nice 1972 real SS, (not a clone) that I'd be willing to part with though for a reasonable price if you're in the market.
