I bought my mom a heart necklace with all five of her children's birthstones. One year I also made a movie for my mom...it was a video with songs that I picked out and had pictures of my siblings and I put in the movie...It was great. My mom still has it., and she cries every time. It's funny because all of us kids have a contest to see who can make mom cry more...that would be this year. This year, I had all of our pictures taken professionally together, and ordered the picture in a canvas...it was great, and I know she is gonna lose it...just give her something from the heart, and no matter what she will love it as much as the other gifts. Good luck!

I was in the same boat and have done exactly everything you have mentioned. My church is having a Mother's Day Luncheon with a speaker, nice catered lunch, and lots of give aways and door prizes so I bought a ticket for my mom and I and invited her to come down and spend the day and go the the seminar with me. It's something different and although it's not normally something I would do, it's right up her ally and she was elated to have been invited by me! Check around and see why kind of mothers day programs or Teas are available in your area.

Another idea: does she have a mother's ring? You can get with your sibling is you have any and buy her a nice mother's ring...my sister and I did this one year too.

check into a play or musical....that the two of you could go to together!

Give her a certificate that says you'll come clean her house once a week or every two weeks depending on your schedule good for 2 hours of cleaning time!

Buy her a tanning package if she is into tanning.

Just think outside of the box....just having someone do something small means the world!

Spend the day doing something she likes - shopping, dinner and movie, haircuts and manicures.
Offer her 'time' - to help paint a room, clean out the garage, plant a garden
Volunteer with her: what is she good at? Cooking - work in soup kitchen; crafts - work with small children; singing/playing piano - go to a senior center to entertain or even throw a dance

Make her a nice picnic and give her some flowers and have a singing telegram (decent one one not those xrated things).

Contact a old friend that she has not seen in awhile and fix them both up for dinner/spa.

Send her flowers and a ticket to somewhere she wanted to travel/special movie or show.

Make up a skit with you and your sister and some friends and perform for her.

Mostly just love her and pamper her and give her a day where she doesn't have to lift a finger.

You and your sister can make her a throw blanket. Use old clothes of yours or baby blankets...just cut squares and sew together. You can get quilted backing to make it extra soft. just personalize it! Then every time she uses it she will think of how much thought and effort the two of you put into making her something she can keep and use always :)

Okay, so coming from a 42 year-old mom, MYSELF....I personally would love it if my kids packed me a picinic lunch and took me to the park or beside the River somewhere to enjoy it with me! What's not to love?? (as long as I didn't have to raise one finger to pack or make anything!) Then, when ALL ELSE FAILS:: STARBUCKS COFFEE CARD!!!

How about a card with a letter inclosed expressing your love for her and grattitude for all the things she's done for you. Finished off with a big I LOVE YOU!!!
