Women expect men to chit-chat and talk about their "feelings" like he's their girlfriend. Men are not women. They don't respond like women. They don't talk like women. They don't go into detail about every little tiny thing they feel or think. Women don't seem to get it that men are different. Understand and respect the differences.

I don't want to be in an "anyone" dominant relationship, I want a relationship in which my girlfriend is my friend as well as my sexual partner. You don't talk of "who wears the pants" in friendships, do you? I don't understand why people think a relationship has to be a dominant/submissive dynamic... I absolutely hate the idea of authority. People should be free. To that end, I don't want to ever feel like I'm bossing a girl around or that she thinks I'm making her do something she doesn't want to do. On the other hand, I value my own freedom, and especially since a lot of the complaints guys have about dominant females is that they don't "let" their bf hang out with his friends, etc - any girlfriend ever tells me to choose between her or my friends, I'm gone. So I would much rather find a relationship in which we can both be happy with one another The people I know who have pulled this type of relationship off are the people who were just good friends for a while before they started dating. It looks like the most fun and pain free way of doing things IMO.

Randyken - HELLO?!?!? I am totally honest and blunt with guys and all I ever get is garbage in return.
The two problems in my opinion are #1 just not understanding that men and women have different ways of communicating and #2 not taking the time to learn the different ways men and women communicate. For instance, they guy I was talking to at a bar one night out of nowhere started talking this other group of guys down. What he was really expressing to me was his own insecurities, but if I wouldn't have taken the time to dissect that, I might have thought he was being a complete jerk.

The problem is that women want to share their thoughts, ideas, and feelings and have a 2-way communication, while men want the discussion to "get to the point" and they want to fix it. To men, if it's not fixable, why worry about it? It's a waste of time to worry and fret and talk things over according to guys.

Bad temper. He tends to raise his voice a little higher - sometimes he shouts. Sometimes the wrong choice words is used - contempt and disgust felt. I feel I either allow my views to be silenced or make it worse by shouting back. The latter definitely happens when I'm drinking.

Females are more emotional and males are more visual and straight to the point. Different chemical makeups.

Women always feel that when they get into a relationship with a guy they can change them. And men think that when they get into a relationship that she remains the same.

The main problem is that both sides justify not being completely honest.
That explains it all.
