helo, well thailand is the land of smiles.. good hotels and veryy attractive prices and amazing shopping. Hotels are cheaper near silom road than sukumwith road. For about $45 to $60 u can get a nice 3.5/4 star hotel.
For good deals try Asiatravel.com
or travelasia.com
and traveling my buss to nearby cities is the best, or if you are heading far you can purchase a budget airline ticket as nokair or air asia

www.thaiwebsites.com, fairly current and up to date
www.thailandguru.com is good for business and tourism, though it is self serving since he is a business consultant but, he is fairly current.
www.asiarooms.com has good room rates for hotels in Thailand.
www.bangkok.com has some good links for travel within Thailand, shopping in Bangkok and tours in Bangkok.
