What if those more closely related are more closely physically connected? Of course, that manner would follow the laws of physics. I don't believe in the metaphysical, paranormal crap.

What does it even mean to be physically connected when atoms never actually touch each other?

What if information can pass between us?

What you are talking about is mathematical correlation. When one system observes another the two become correlated. I think it is wrong to look at quantum entanglement as information passing superluminally. The two systems just become mathematically correlated. Each system has many copies within the multiverse.

Monism has some interesting components. The connectedness is certainly one. I have a sense that some of the concepts in monism have some truth to them. The level of this 'oneness' is an interesting idea.

Why do you think its possible to have another dimension, but not have metaphysical 'crap'? Why couldn't there be activity in this other dimension, best described as 'metaphysical' or 'paranormal'?

There is an absurd maximum to this whole thing too.

We are. Buddhist philosophy logically covers the concept of "interconnectedness". "Paranormal" and "metaphysical" are just people's ways of defining that which they can't quite define otherwise, according to their abilities. Calling it "crap" is rather unkind. The Buddha tried to give words to that which is really indescribable, but still exists, with words like "Nirvana", "enlightenment", etc. because some of us can't wrap our minds around certain things w/o labels... so give those who can't grab on a break and let them label what they do according to their own ability.

Compassion, altruism... the logical choice.

Okay well think in terms of energy. We are all composed of energy. Its like a giant spider web. All of us are connected even if it is distant. Those people that are closely related are closer on the other plane as well. Not stronger neccessarily but closer.

In the Earth's energy field we all exist, our energy melded into the bigger global energy. In that way we are connected.
