There are MANY people these days who claim or profess to be Christians, but are they really? This is what the Bible says you must do to become a Christian: YOU must TURN AWAY from your sins (REPENT) and put your FAITH in Jesus Christ. Now read these scary words of Jesus in Matthew 7:21-23: “Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.'" Will you be one that Jesus says, “Depart from me”? Yes, a person IS saved by GRACE, but do YOU truly have the Grace of God? This is the Biblical description of Grace: “For the Grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and Godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.”(Titus 2:11-14) Do YOU have the Grace of God according to the Bible? Jesus also said that a True Christian will bear “good fruit” (Matt 7:17-20): the fruit of the spirit (Gal 5:22-23); the fruit of repentance (Matt 3:8); they won't "practice lawlessness” or “sin” (1 John 3:9, Matt 7:23); They will know Christ intimately (John17:3, Matt 7:23) and they will evangelize (Rom 10:14-17, Matt 28:18-20). Do YOU have the fruit of a Christian? Are YOU A BIBLICAL CHRISTIAN? 2 Corinthians 13:5 Go To: www.checkyourself.us

You need to see the whole picture. To be a christian is not only to be the fellower of the Lord. God’s word tells us that He is self-existing and ever-existing. In eternity past God was there. At a certain point he made a decision to create man. God’s desire was to have this man express Him in His image and represent Him with His authority earth (Gen 1:26-28) The bible tell us in the very first page of Genesis that God’s creation of man was different from His creation of all other things. He created man in His own image. Let us illustrate this matter by using a glove. A person’s hand cannot fit into a handkerchief because it does not have the image or form of the hand. Because the glove is in the image, the likeness, and the form of a hand, it is able to contain the hand. A glove is made in the form of a hand for the purpose of containing the hand. In the same way, the human life was created according to the image of God so that God could dispense Himself as the divine life into the human life. Man was created not only to express God but also to be God’s representative authority. The unique way for man to express God and represent God is to receive God as his life that man may become a counterpart of God. Man was created with the capacity to receive and contain God’s divine life. All of man’s human virtues, such as love, honor, and goodness, were created by God so that man may have God’s live and live out the divine attributes

I certainly consider myself an unworthy Christian.
Your verses speak truth, and there is no doubt that many people never take the time to really read and learn what it means to be a Christian, but I do believe that no human matches up to many of those things, otherwise we would never have needed Christ to die for our sins. Even the Pope and Billy Graham have failed and came up short of what The Bible ask's of us.
I find that compasion is often missing among many Christians. Compassion does not necessarily mean accepting what a person is doing, but it does mean realizing that none of us are perfect and praying for those we feel are doing wrong. We also should not just shut out those who say they are Christians but really are not. Accepting Christ is no guarantee that you become an expert of The Bible in that very moment of acceptance, otherwise you would never need to study it again. We learn as we go and some of us may learn certain things a little slower than others, we may not all be at the same level, and we all have different weaknesses both physical and mental, but we are there for a common cause and trying to head in the right direction.
Just because someone has given you directions and you have the road map right in front of you does not mean you won't get lost!

What about love long suffering patience peace tolerance being one who is not easily angered meek and humble. That is the fruit of the spirit. I may not be fruitful at all times but it is what I am aspiring to. I frequently ask God to point out character flaws and remove them to be replaced with virtue or the fruit of the Spirit. I try and serve my fellow man and family with humility. I reserve judgment of others for the Lord. I use the bible as mirror not as a projection screen and when people ask how can you forgive so and so I say because the Lord makes it possible. It pleases Him and as my journey continues this becomes more and more important to me because I love and want to please Him.
Grace is not deserved and therefore it must be freely given to those who seek it. I believe that arrogance and fear keep many from learning to love God. He compares himself to a bridegroom. I assure you I would reject one coming at me like you. No matter how pure you seem to be. There must be something in the mirror you are afraid to deal with. Be concerned with your own salvation and maybe you'll receive some peace and will not feel the need to point out other peoples faults as you perceive them. God will judge our hearts.

A true Christian is a person who has put his or her faith and trust in the person of Jesus Christ and fact that He died on the cross as payment for sins and rose again on the third day to obtain victory over death and to give eternal life to all who believe in Him. John 1:12 tells us: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” A true Christian is indeed a child of God, a part of God’s true family, and one who has been given new life in Christ. The mark of a true Christian is love for others and obedience to God’s Word (1 John 2:4; 1 John 2:10).

i'm getting that each and all the time too, the full "suitable you by utilising no ability have been somewhat Christian then!" argument at a similar time as human beings hit upon out I left Christianity at age 17. Nevermind the reality that i replaced into an extremely religious Christian who even theory approximately reworking into a nun for incredibly. i think of of it incredibly is a mix of self-righteousness and a cop-out so as that they do now not would desire to admit to being jealous. they only isn't able to settle for the reality that somebody who leaves Christianity would suitable be satisfied (which i'm, btw, plenty happier now than i replaced into as a Christian).

Aren't you asking an intensely personal question?
But I will do my best to answer you.
As long as a person is doing his level best, out of his love and loyalty to Christ, to follow Him as well as they can in accordance to their understanding of what He expects from them, then that person is a "true Christian", and nobody, not even (or maybe I should have said especially not) other Christians, who ought to be too busy working out their own salvation with fear and trembling, may say otherwise. I don't think a "true Christian" woud try to judge his brother/sister, but, in all humility and love, exhort him to do better.
On the other hand, Jesus did give us the one true sign that will mark a true Christian...and that is true love.
It is not for us to worry about who is or is not a "true Christian", although we are going to disagree among ourselves. Ultimately, it is up to Jesus, Who does know His flock. His sheep know Him, and will not listen to a stranger's voice. No, not even another sheep trying to bring them down.

Well I can stand and say that I'm a Christian and yet I stumble and I fall and yet the Lord helps me up and he loves me still. I'm a Christian that has turned all I have and all I'll ever be over to the Lord and in return he has promised me eternal life and he has forgiven me of my sins. I'm a Christian that has been baptized and you forget to mention that you have to be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. So there for I can stand and say that I'm a true Christian.

Yes. I have truly been born of God, born of His Spirit, cleansed by His Blood, joint heirs with King Jesus, part of the family of God.
No way is Jesus going to tell me, "Depart from me, I never knew you who practice lawlessness.". No way. I am a child of the King. God isn't going to abort me.
Only those born of God (born again) shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven. You have to be a child of God. Eternal life is a free gift, what Jesus purchased for us on the cross. But we must receive this gift through confession & heart faith.

If being a Christian is:
"YOU must TURN AWAY from your sins (REPENT) and put your FAITH in Jesus Christ. "
Then all the people here who don't act like "true Christians" (in your definition) ARE True Christians as long as they have done these two things. They can sin and be nasty all they want.
