DEI is just not the same anymore. Heck, DEI made Michael Waltrip appear to be a good driver for a little while. As much as I feel I don't want Jr. to leave DEI, I feel just as much as I feel I want him too. I would like to see what he can do elsewhere but I would like to see what he can do making the decisions as well. I have begun to feel that DEI (and by DEI I mean Teresa) stalled as an organization. Not sure Jr. being there or having a say in the what what can help it. If I had to lean I think I would lean towards Jr. taking his 2.4 wins and Bud with him. Where? I like the idea of RCR but not of the number 3. Gibbs maybe. Hendrick, yuck, although I think he would be great there. Any Chevy. Prediction? Gibbs or RCR creates a fourth team in the Bud Chevy, makes the chase with 4 wins but losses too much ground in the Championship when a Michael Waltrip owned Toyota wrecks him in consecutive races.

If I was the owner of DEI like Teresa is, I'd tell Dale Jr. to sign the contract or go elsewhere. I'd also not give up the #8, he may leave and take Budweiser, but he would drive something other than the 8 car.

I like Jr just fine, but he's demanding too much. I might give him 51% ownership of the 8 car, but not of DEI. If he wants to leave, then leave. He wins about 1 race a year anyway. DEI will get by without him.

Dale,Jr will still be driving the #8 Bud car in 2008. They will settle his contract but he won't be majority stockholder as a lot of people want along with them wanting him in the #3 RCR car. I was a die-hard fan of his daddy's but Jr just doesn't have the same driving force that his daddy had. He's gotten a lot of respect for his driving, but not the results that he needs to use as a negotiating tool. He has a ways to go to be compared with his daddy.

When I read about Teresa trying to get Jr to pay $55,000,000 for 51% of DEI it makes me think she doesn't want to work it out with him. When I look at the Chevy teams that Dale could go to I can only see 3 he would consider. RCR, Gibbs and Hendrick are all very competitive and could field a champion. If you look at who has the best chance of producing a champ you have to put Hendrick Motorsports at the top of the list. I know it's not the popular choice but I think there is a good chance he could go to HMS in either the 5 or 25 car. Rick would undoubtedly make room for Earnhardt on one of his teams. This would work out great for Jr's Busch teams as they would have access to Hendrick horsepower and technology. Gibbs could easily get rid of Yeley and add Jr to their lineup also. I know RCR is the popular team for Jr. to go to by his fans, but it doesn't make as much sense. He needs to get out from his dad's shadow not follow in his footsteps. If he does go there he will never get away from comparisons to his father. The other issue is who would they get rid of? I don't see any of the 3 current drivers going anywhere else. I dont' know that Richard Childress is looking to start another team either, though he might make an exception for Jr. To wrap it all up I'm going to say Jr will be driving the #25 Budweiser Chevrolet Impala (COT full time next year) for Hendrick Motorsports. Jeff, Jimmie and Jr would be one of the most awesome teams in the history of NASCAR. If that were to happen Jr would make the chase next year and finish in the top 7 or 8, with at least 3 wins. After another year building a team and getting comfortable Jr would have a breakout season and score 5 or 6 wins and be top 5 in the points with a legitimate shot at the championship.

I see him going to RCR. The Stepchild/Stepparent thing between Dale and Teresa is gonna be the thing that gets Dale out of DEI, and despite RCR saying they arent actively pushing for Jr. to race at RCR, I see it happening. The pressure will be enorumus, especially if that car has a 3 on the sides and roof of it.

Dale Jr doesn't trust many people. The one great exception is Richard Childress, he trusts him. Richard Childress has a number (3) for jr and no team so the 8 team will follow him to RCR. Jr gets the team he loves, the owner he trusts and the stressless freedom he needs. JR motorsports will be for his sister and the rest of the family. Mark my words.

I think he's going to stay right where he is, he hasn't proved himself to be so good of a driver that he can dictate his own deal.
Hendricks doesn't need him for sponsors or for marketing
RCR would take him just because of the novelty of him driving the 3 car.
I wonder though, what would happen if he did go to RCR and drove the 3 car and didn't win anymore races than he has with DEI.
Then WHO would all the Jr fans blame for him not winning a championship???

Seriously, what was in the will, the contract- whatever that left whoever in charge?!? Where are the lawyers? It's a publicity stunt in my eyes. Jr has said from day #1 that Sr left that business to his kids, Kelly & Dale Jr. (I hope I got the name right) & his younger brother, Kerry, will come into it if he wants to later on. Jr. will do whatever is right for Jr. & sibs.

I hope he does leave DEI . He needs to show everyone his tallent. Ha Ha. He is not a great driver. DEI gives him the best cars they can. Give the car to Kerry. Jr is a spoiled little brat. He wont make it on his own.I know many people will hate me for this but thats the way I feel.

Dale Jr. will either be in a Richard Childress car or will be at DEI. I believe that he will go with Childress and will win at the very least two champions with him
