Lilly and Pheebe (since I suspect Pheebe is a cat, I'm addressing this to Lilly - LOL) Praise God indeed for your husband's continuing health.

Sasi - so glad to know you are better and isn't it amazing how God can put us where we can be of service?

Everything! First and most important He saved me, good health, family healthy, keeps my family safe, even when my unsaved family members go and do wrong he has mercy on them and lets nothing happen to them, He's healed my body, He provides for me. I am still alive. Need I say more?

To some these may be petty things but if it were not for Him where would I be? Where would any of us be? Satan doesn't care about you. People take for granted the good in their lives, the nice homes and cars, money etc. They say" My good paying job got me these things". OK, who made it possible for you to get the job? Not you, the Lord!

But people will never understand that and think it's all them.
The Lord may allow something bad to happen to you, but it is result of somethings you've done. He doesn't do it to be mean, it's to teach you It's a result of the sin in your life.
You can't do wrong and think nothing will ever happen to you.
Think about it and have a nice day!!!

There isn't enough space here, so one example will have to do. After a serious illness and recovering, I realised I was in danger of becoming depressed just by being at home all day, doing very little. So I started looking for a part time job that would not be strenuous. At my age, it seemed impossible. But the perfect one came along - masses of people applied, and I got it. Now I'm out of the house 4 mornings a week, working for a Christian church that does social care in the community (being salt and light) and meetings are begun with devotions and prayer! The people I'm with are lovely, and although the job has its moments of pressure, it's a God-send and the good Lord is enabling me to do the necessary. What's more, with the money, I can now give small donations to 'deserving causes', which I couldn't do before. Thank you, Lord!

They will only place blame on God if they do not believe in Him. It's sad, but true. If those same people really stop and look back and see what they have done and who they gave credit too during good times, it will never be Him. Though they will use His name to curse with when something isn't the way they want it or blame Him for all the woes in the world or their lives. Nothing personal, just the way they do things. Most of them don't even realize they do it.

I can give God credit for everything good. That's just me though. :)

To blame God at all is to believe in him. To blame him for bad things just seems to make no sense at all; to believe in him like that generally is to think that only good things can come from him.

I on the other hand question why people believe in a good and loving god if there are so many atrocities in the world today - is that what you mean?

My salvation through Jesus Christ.
My relationship with Him.
My having survived an abusive childhood, found a marriage and made a life for myself.
Physical and emotional healing.
I couldn't have done any of these things without Him.
I also credit Him with teaching me to love others and allow Him to love me.
And with creating a beautiful world, which, although it has been mistreated by so many, reveals Him at every step.

what about being alive? He created each and everyone of us and each and every living, breathing thing that lives on this world. People blame God when things go wrong because if they didn't, they would have to blame themselves, and lets face it, thats never going to happen is it.
For giving me a sense of purpose and direction in my life. Without God and the people that God has put in my life, i would be a nothing, nobody right now. God has given me my own life plan and has nudged me gently along the route.
With God in my life, I know that I am never alone, I know I'm loved and cared about.
I hope that answers your question,
xxx

It depends on your beliefs - I suppose Religious people would credit their god or gods with everything that they enjoy, and in turn all the pain such as natural disasters or other more personal tragedy would be that god / gods responsibilty also. People who are un-decided or are atheists might believe that a 'god' should take no credit for anything as they are either skeptical of its existance or firmly don't believe. But in reality it is just human nature to find someone or something to blame for unfortunate events, as it makes it easier to digest bad news or problems if you can feel like they were out of your control or that you are the 'victim' of someone else's choices.

Why should I credit anything at all to a proposition that has not been established? there is not one shred of objective evidence for the existence of a creator.

Therefore, I can only view god as a fictional entity and evaluate him by works purporting to describe his acts and his word, for example, the bible. The god that emerges from the bible is an idiot; self-contradictory, murderous, petty and amoral. Page after page of the bible describes genocide, rape, incest and slaughter performed either by god or at his explicit command. A human acting in this way would be a war criminal and a psychotic!
