According to Hebrews 11:1 it does.
"Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld." (NWT)
Note the phrases "assured expectation" and "evident demonstration of realities."
Now, God has never placed me in the earth restored to paradise - YET. But the Bible is replete with promises he made in the past, which he faithfully fulfilled. (Joshua 21:43-45)
Because of this, I have faith that He will keep his promises to do so. (Matthew 5:5; Psalm 37:9-11, 29; Isaiah 35:1-10; Revelation 21:3-5; etc.)

You don't know- that is the essence of faith, there is no reason behind wanting there to be an afterlife so much that men will write a book and claim it came from God, there is no proof or reason behind it. Mans hubris is what causes his denial about his mortality. For the human animal, once they achieved consciousness its been a need to exist eternally throughout time and cultures. Also it was a way of explaining thing you couldn't understand. Lightening was an angry God, the earth was flat, the earth was the center of the universe, etc.. Its sad not going on forever, but wanting it doesn't make it so.

faith demands investigation. If something is true the evidence will come forth as you persue it. If evidence doesn't come through then be catious. Look for the posative and not the negative. no truth was ever discovered by finding what is wrong. Joseph Smith had faith enough to ask The Lord which church he should join (his family was divided) and a wonderful vision resulted but he had to show faith first.

that's a deep question.....faith is not defined by reason-in fact faith defies reason because reason is limited. And while this may sound like a roundabout answer the only way to prove that faith is reliable is to have faith- then.....see what happens :)

You have reason when you have faith. There are times when you step out to God with nothing under your feet, but at those times, you realize, how much God is in control. The truth is God. Faith is how we know God and whats in our hearts.

Faith does not rely on reason. Faith is not void of reason, either.

Disagree. <> Correct <> Correct <> Correct <> Huh? Incorrect. Non sequitur. Where is that supposed to come from? Edit: Atheism is the lack of belief in deities. That is different from belief in no deities. The former is agnostic atheism, by far the most common, which requires no faith. The latter is the much rarer faith-based gnostic atheism.
