Ah, this is something I know all too well.
My dear 19 year old friend, you suffer from a condition I am convinced is an exceeding psychological condition for early college age men and women in the new millennium. It is what I like to call the Quarter Life Crises. We are at such an age in which we are being pressured by society to decide exactly what we want from the next 30 years of our lives. We are suppose to know by the age of 21 where we are going and what life holds for us, but the matter remains that it is IMPOSSIBLE to know that. We don't know what the next minute, or hour, or day, or week holds for us, none the less what we have to do with the next 30 years of our lives. It is stressful, and it makes our mortality and time all the more impending and has us doubt who we are and what kind of person we want to be.
You are not old. You have your life ahead of you and there is so much you can do. Don't let people pressure you into living a certain life or working a kind of job or being a kind of person you don't want to be. Look at what you want, and most importantly, be the kind of person you should be RIGHT NOW, and everything else will fall into place.

No, you are not old. You still have your whole life ahead of you. If you want to go back to school or college, do it!!! Nothing is stopping you but yourself. If you left school 3 years ago, that means you didn't graduate, but you still can. Go to a technical college in your area and get your GED or HSED. Then... look into the technical college and find a program that you are interested in. You will meet new people, and find new things that you can enjoy in life. You will soon feel better about yourself, your looks, and your life. If you are really depressed, you also might want to think about talking to a counselor in your area. If you can talk about the reasons why you are not happy and feeling depressed, it will help you tremendously. And I'm sure you are a beautiful girl, you just need to look deeper than you are right now. It is not just about the hair, the makeup and the clothes. Everyone is beautiful (even on the outside). You just need to believe in yourself!! Good luck honey... feel free to send me a message if you'd like to talk some more!!

Nineteen is when your life is beginning. You need to get out and enjoy yourself. I don't know who told you that 19 is the peak of your looks. They were wrong. I know so many women who are beautiful at every age!!
Better things are to come, you have a career, a spouse, and children to look forward to.
If you keep dwelling in the past you will be depressed. Instead, plan for the future and look forward to all you can become.
Step outside and take a deep breath and thank God that He gave you your life and that you've made it this far. Think of all the young people who never make it past puberty in some countries.
You can go back to school! It's possible. If you work, go to night school or take classes online. Get a hobby: dancing, martial arts, volunteer somewhere. Nursing homes always need someone to visit their residents.
Find someone you can talk to, because it's difficult to receive info from people online. Express your feelings to someone you love and I hope you realize what a gift your life is to God and your family.
:)

OMG, I'm 37 on May 30th I'll be 38. I haven't figured out what I want to be yet. All you need to know is that we are here to help others. When you start helping others: volunteer life you will be enlightened to the meaning of life. You are not ugly. Some people get better looking w/ age. I met a man last night who amazed me. He said he was going to be 50. I was amazed b/c he looked like he was in his late 20's. He was like a Ken doll. So it gave me hope for my looks in the future. I guess drinking water is "the fountain of youth". Some of us our "late bloomers". Be happy that you are so young. Think about me at 37. By the way my 30th birthday was the best of my life. When I was young I had buck teeth, was fat and couldn't interact w/ people. Now all that is gone and I'm so happy. Don't give up so easily. Go out and get yourself the move "13 going on 30". It's a great and funny movie.

No, I don't think your old... You're young. I'm 20 going to be 21 in July and I dont feel old. Therefore you shouldnt either! I feel that time is flying though and everyone else I know feels the same way. You should enjoy life especially now that you are young. You only live once so enjoy it! You have your whole life ahead of you. Don't cry be positive and look at the bright side of life. I know it's easier said than done.

Wow-I wish I was 19 again. You should feel lucky to have so much of your life left to live!! Feeling insecure about yourself is normal, but it sounds like you struggle with it maybe more than normal. Have you talked to anyone about the way you feel? It can really help to talk to a counselor or therapist because they are completely unbiased and great listeners. As far as going back to school, why don't you? If you dropped out of school, find out about adult schools in your area that can help you earn your GED so that you can get into to college. Or you can even apply to a local college part time without a high school diploma just to feel like you are doing something worthwhile and hopefully studying something you enjoy! Good luck and you are definitely not old! Enjoy this time in your life!

I am also 19 years young, I do not feel old neither do I consider myself to be old. it is my last year as a teen and so is yours, but it is the beginning of something new. we will both be "YOUNG" Adults. There is no need to feel depressed. I wish you lived close by where I could just hang out with you and talk about anything that comes to mind.
The best comforter is "Jesus". If you do not attend church you can start visiting the one nearest to you. Get yourself involved in positive activities that will keep you from feeling sorry for yourself.
Do you live in Jamaica? I would love to socialize with you more often. Did I forget to mention that i once felt just like you did. It may not have been the same situation but I almost cried my eyes out. There was no one around to talk with.
Here is my email address just in case you need a friend to talk with: rosetherisha@yahoo.com.
Remain strong my new friend.

Listen your never too old to go back to school, try university or college becuase then its like school.Your not old and very lucky im 13 and want to be older as im sick of school,my mum says never wish your life away, and dont wish it back i say things happen for a reason we get older and time flys i know but dont be depressed at your age i would be partying and going to college and staying out till 2am go wild you only get one life (hense the afterlife) and you have to do the best you can with it, i feel ugly all the time but everyoneis prettier than they think as boys see differently to girls ans you friends will say your pretty too, but becuase your depressed you find something else to be ashamed of and most girls hate their face and body.Make the most of life some people die earlly and dont get a proper life, you on the other hand have on and lots of it dont take for granted what soem people got taken away, good luck to you XxX.

By your description, I'm assuming that you are a girl. Just look at all of the famous people that you admire...then look at their age. I doubt very seriously, that the women you admire, are younger than you. Are they beautiful? Pick their ages out as aspire to be that beautiful, when your that age. If you think that your going to die at 40 or close to it, think again. Remember that you'll want to stick around till you can collect all the money you will have put into Social Security, and you can't start to draw that, till your 67. That, is 50% higher than the 40 something you were talking about. Who knows...you maybe asked to do a playboy centerfold issue, when your 80.

Do you want to live your life with what ifs? Good grief you are
so into yourself. Do you ever look at people around you? I just
had a friend killed in a car wreck about 2 months ago. Do you know one thing that gives me comfort? He lived live to the fullest. He volunteered at the hospital. He delivered meals on
wheels to the elderly. He was one of the nicest people I have
ever known. He was one of the happiest people too.
What if you were 38? What if you are 60? You just start living and loving and doing things, take your mind off of self and get busy living. When You are 60 or so you don't want to look back and wish you had your life back.
