(Matthew 7:7) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

(Matthew 7:8) For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

(Matthew 7:9) Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

(Matthew 7:10) Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

(Matthew 7:11) If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

The theme is to keep asking, seeking, and knocking.

7:7, 8 If we think that we can live out the teachings of the Sermon on the Mount by our own strength, we have failed to realize the supernatural character of the life to which Christ calls us. The wisdom or power for such a life must be given to us from above. So here we have an invitation to ask and keep on asking; to seek and keep on seeking; to knock and keep on knocking. Wisdom and power for the Christian life will be given to all who earnestly and persistently pray for it.

Taken out of context, verses 7 and 8 might seem like a blank check for believers, i.e., we can get anything we ask for. But this is simply not true. The verses must be understood in their immediate context and in light of the whole Bible's teaching on prayer. Therefore, what seems like unqualified promises here are actually restricted by other passages. For example, from Psa_66:18 we learn that the person praying must have no unconfessed sin in his life. The Christian must pray in faith (Jam_1:6-8) and in conformity with the will of God (1Jo_5:14). Prayer must be offered persistently (Luk_18:1-8) and sincerely (Heb_10:22 a).

7:9, 10 When the conditions for prayer are met, the Christian can have utter confidence that God will hear and answer. This assurance is based on the character of God, our Father. On the human level, we know that if a son asks for bread, his father will not give him a stone. Neither would he give him a serpent if he had asked for a fish. An earthly father would neither deceive his hungry son nor give him anything that might inflict pain.

7:11 Christ argues from the lesser to the greater. If human parents reward their children's requests with what is best for them, how much more will our Father who is in heaven do so.

ASKING THE BIBLE A QUESTION TO GET THE ANSWER, CAN YOU?

2Tim.2:15; Rightly divide the scripture.

O.T. 1110 years, 39 books, many write, done 443 BCE
N.T. 50 to 100 CE, 27 books, many write.

What is first creation created by God, why was life span even in sin, so many years long before the flood, why did life span drop down so much after the flood, is day of God same as day in times and seasons for plant life and Noah 375 days in the ark, Soul, death, hell, hell fire, resurrection, Jesus death, burial and resurrection, what happens to all who are ever born, when would bible come to the world, what about all the people before the bible, how many world Empire will there be in this world, what is prophecy time based on, what is bible time and how is it given and what does it mean, how long did Eden last in day six, how much time will Satan have, what does it mean that Satan has a short time, what is last days, what is time of the end, what is the judgement day, how are man and angels judged on judgement day, what happens after judgement day?

If you seek the answers to all the questions, will you find it, will the door be opened for you? What is evil? What is Just?

Great verses. Not sure what the question is. Yes I believe following the Bible in context. This is one of Jesus many parables. I believe the main point of this parable is that we must not be vindictive of others. Show charity and kindness. Be generous to give to those in need. Unfortunately the Jews in that time only took care of the Jews. The despised the rest of the world. Jesus is teaching us to do the opposite of that.

No.
Based on the arguments in your previous posted question, that sounds like spiritual AND material needs to me.
Exactly what is the right motive? To please God? In that case, you would have to be completely unselfish. But, there is no such thing as an unselfish person, only positive selfishness and negative selfishness. For example, positive selfishness is giving a starving man food: both of you feel better afterwards. Negative selfishness: Bullying someone else to make yourself feel better.

These scriptures are true

Does a human father usually give his children every single thing for which they ask?
What if the children are demanding, even arrogant, in asking for things? What if they have disgraced the family by bad conduct, or their requests are unreasonable, selfish or run counter to their father’s standards? Should any of these or like factors enter the picture, likely the father will refuse his children’s requests. In principle, this is also true regarding the heavenly Father, Jehovah God.

Persons who want to be heard by God must approach him in true humility, doing so through his Son Jesus Christ. That this is now the only means of approach is evident from Jesus’ words to his disciples:
“Whatever it is that you ask in my name, I will do this, in order that the Father may be glorified in connection with the Son.” “No one comes to the Father except through me.”—
John 14:13, 6.

Also, the individual praying to God must be rightly motivated. He cannot be practicing what God condemns and expect to receive God’s help and favor.—Isaiah. 1:15-17.

Another vital requirement for being heard by God is that we pray in harmony with his will. Even Jesus Christ said: “Let, not my will, but yours take place.” (Luke 22:42)
Like Jesus, the person who has an approved standing before God and prays in harmony with His will can rest assured of being answered.
Writing to fellow Christians, the apostle John noted: “This is the confidence that we have toward him, that, no matter what it is that we ask according to his will, he hears us.”—
1 John 5:14.

Yes I think they are truly meant to be taken in the very context they are written in. Jesus said it and I do believe he meant it. If your child was hungry, would you not give them food, whether they were 4 or 84? If God takes care of the nees of the birds of the air who are beneath us, why would he do any less for us. God sent his only son to die for us...would you do the same for a neighbor, for a friend even?

Hi again!!!
Once again, you must seek first the Kingdom of God.

33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33)

Also, you must believe when you ask.

22If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (Matthew 21:22)

Even still, what you ask for must line up with God's will. THe closer you are to God, the more your desires will line up with His will. For example, I'm sure that if you selfishly prayed for 1 million dollars, God wouldnt give it to you, because its selfish. But, if you prayed for wisdom, He would give it to you according to what you need.

5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. (James 1:5-6)

This is another example that you must believe when you ask, but as i said before...whatever you ask for must be God's will. Be patient for an answer from God, just as He is patient with us.

Hope this helps!!!!

Yes I do.

When a Child asks for something he needs a good Father will give it to him. When a child of God asks for something he needs the Heavenly Father will give it to him.

Many of us just answered your previous question. There are always conditions. Many mentioned those. Why repost the question? Just because you add verses doesn't mean anything changes.

Here's the previous post, so you can see the answers.
