Spray him with water, its because he is 'preening' it could be related to stress or just because his "summer feathers" are coming through.... spraying him every few hours should make it stop :o)

may need to go to the vets and have a mite drop applied (you cant really tell if these are present so best let a vet check) or even a feather sent off to a lab to see if there is any other under lying problem with the skin as this is obviously not normal and birds should be full/plump with feathers!

Spary each morning with warm water mixed with feather conditioner. Dont spray in the afternoon or evening as the feathers mus be fully dry b4 bed time.

i have 2 parrots and they look scruffy no matter how many showers i give em there tail feathers still look scraggy.. a friend of mine sprays a little baby oil (in the water) over his birds every few weeks he was told one of his birds was pluckin his underwing feathers as he was gettin to hot as the heatin was still on

i wouldnt worry bout them lookin scraggy its wen they start pluckin id worry

It could be molting, or, if the parrot hasn't been getting enough attention or proper nutrition etc, they can pull their own feathers.

these birds moult twice a year, spray with water in the morning and they will preen them self

They always look scruffy until theyv'e finished moulting. Should look pretty good soon
