I bought my ex-GF one there for her birthday. It was all black with a little bit of shadowing effect. the black, and the outlines is what hurts the most in tattoos. It doesn't hurt when its on the muscle, mainly on the boney parts is where it hurts a little. But its mostly like an annoying pain. Ur just kinda sitting there like WTF! is it done yet!!?!? Its not excruciating pain by any means. The filling in and shading is cake. The main thing is to not get all worked up about it and dont let them stop. Unless its real big. But ur better off getting it done at one shot.
GOODLUCK!

What a myth this pain thing is. Yes it hurts but not the agony that people like to gossip about. Mind you, there are places that are nasty to place tattoos in, like ribs, inner arms or thighs and any really bony spot but in general its much less uncomfortable than a bee sting. Alot has to do with how heavt handed your artist is as well. One of the artists that works on me, Cynthia, is so light sometimes I'm not even sure she's actually laying down the ink. Make sure you get enough sleep the night before, be completely sober, eat well and be hydrated and you will be fine. STOP PSYCHING YOURSELF OUT!

As the others have said, yes, it does hurt, but not that bad. The feeling is much like getting scratched on a sunburn. The body's natural painkillers - endorphins - really kick in for folks' first tattoo, to the point I had to consciously keep myself from giggling. They don't remove the pain entirely but will reduce the "volume" substantially.
My first tat was in the same area - see my 360 if you want a comparison on size & location. It took about 3 hours total, with the first half hour not the actual needlework but rather positioning, checking on specifics, etc.

Yes, getting a tattoo hurts. How sore it's is dependent utterly on wherein you get it. But it is hardly ever so sore you are not able to get it completed. I've obtained a band round my higher arm. The outer part of the arm is somewhat sore however the within, wherein there may be much less muscle and extra tender flesh, the tattooist needed to press more difficult so it harm extra. My exwife has a solar and moon layout round her stomach button. That, in line with her, was once probably the most painful factor she's had performed. Soft aspect of the frame, lot of stress. Other locations that harm. Anywhere wherein epidermis covers just about bone. So some thing at the shin goes to nip, for instance. Feet are tremendously touchy, mainly at the sole, and at the same time getting tats anyplace else will harm, tattooing at the toes will harm LOTS. If you wish whatever performed for your again, it is approximately the excellent position to do it should you don't seem to be eager on soreness. It will nonetheless harm at the tender bits, however you will have fewer nerve endings for your again than every other aspect of your frame so it hurts somewhat much less. And should you do get a tattoo, do not do it with a hangover. My first one, I'd been consuming till 3 within the morning at the night time earlier than. Six hours sleep, commonly nonetheless somewhat under the influence of alcohol, sitting within the tattooists chair getting whiter and whiter till I needed to bolt for the bathroom and boak. (Boak, a Scots phrase for throwing up) A little soreness feels worse whilst you've obtained a hangover.... And do not get them anyplace you are not able to quilt them, until you wish to grow to be doing a handbook process. If you wish whatever proffesional on your lifestyles (accountant, legal professional, stockbroker, that type of factor) a tattoo isn't going to be the excellent factor you wish to exhibit at your interview. People make decisions at the sort of individual who will get tattoos. Nine instances out of ten that judgement is mistaken, but if you are looking to get a brand new process the ones are the sort of odds you don't want.

My very first one is on my left shoulder. I would say it feels like bee stings or cat scratches. That's the way I would describe it since that's what was going through my mind getting it done. It's one of those things that if you want it bad enough you'll get it regardless of how much it hurts. It doesn't hurt that bad- you'd be fine. If you're still a little worried then get something small, which won't take long to do at all.

A needle pricks ink into your skin, so yes it's gonna hurt. A general rule of thumb is that areas with less fat under the skin hurt more, so your shoulder blade might not be such a good idea for your first tattoo!

i recently got a tattoo on my left shoulder blade of a gothic manga fairy. ( i have a pic on my yahoo profile)I thought i would faint with the pain but it was really not that bad. this was my first but certainly not my last. It took 3 and a half hours but it was so worth it. besides after a few hours the area starts to numb and you hardly feel it. My next one will also be a fairy but im thinking of a erotic fairy with a dak side to her on my other shoulder blade.

i have no pain tolerance what so ever...but i have two tattoos and want more. i thought that it felt like a cat scratch on a sunburn. find a good artist and if it gets too much to handle, take a break. also try getting the tat on a very fleshy part of your body, like the outer arm, because the closer to bone the area is, the more it's going to hurt.

Don't listen to anyone who tells you any different- no matter where you get a tattoo, there will be some degree of pain. It IS a needle, and typically they don't feel too good. If you have a low threshold for pain, I would suggeset eating a healthy meal and drinking water so you don't pass out!!
