Yes, yes and yes!!
Any and everyone has the right to pray any where and everywhere they desire. Prayers can be spoken or thought.
However, teacher lead or initiated prayers are restricted in schools.
On one hand, I would say yes, we should allow our children to pray out loud at school. But then all religions would have that same right, and I really don't want my child to be forced to participate in prayers led by Muslims, Mormons, JW's, or Satanists, etc...
If they let 1 denomination or faith, they have to let all of them.
When I was in school, prayers were initiated by teachers and led by alternating students. All children were Christians, or at least claimed to be, that led prayers. However, today there is so much false religion abounding, that it is actually a safe guard for our children.
My child prayers silently at school when alone, and when she is with a group of other Christians, they pray aloud.

Not sure who you've been listening to but children already have that right. The law does not stop any child from praying at school. The law stops the schools (being a government agency) from organizing, promoting, or endorsing any type of prayer.

As long as it's not required of all the other students, and as long as it doesn't create a disturbance, then sure, let 'em pray all they want.
And just to set the record straight, this is how the rules are NOW. NO ONE is saying kids can't pray in school; they're just saying that it cannot be MANDATED on all the other students who may not wish to participate due to their freedom of religion. I'm saying this because a lot of people think that the big, bad Supreme Court doesn't let kids pray, and that just isn't the case.

I do agree that everyone should be able to pray in school. On that note, I wish that there were classes on all different religions available, as an elective, that could have been taken while I was in school (high school, or JR high). I feel that just because we have a separation of church & state , should not mean that we should not learn about other beliefs. a bit of knowledge of all different religions would make us all a bit worldlier. It would not mean that one would have to "believe" in that way or manner.

I think schools should have a non-denominational chappel/mosque/synagogue (whathaveyou)..in case a child would like to pray.
I don' t know about praying "openly". This might lead to taunting of the prayer by the other kids who are typically insensitive

I think a quiet time where children can pray and others don't have to pray would be good. Where anyone can pray to the God of there choice, quietly

Yes. As long as the rest of the kids are not forced to pray the same way or even pray at all. There should be a prayer room and it should be done during the child's free period, before or after classes, or between them. If this in any way hinders the child's learning process or disrupts others, than that child should be punished. (ie if praying between classes makes the child late he should get a tardy slip.)

Its a sad day in America. Christians are told to observe a "moment of silence". In other words. be quiet and dont pray out loud so anyoney else can hear it and get offended. But oh, taxapyers, christian taxpayers, its time to ante up and pay for the foot washing facility they want to put in one of the colleges so muslims can wash their feet before their morning noon and afternoon prayers, that they pray outloud.
Moment of silence! Who ever came up with that should have kept their mouth shut, and whoever agrees to it ought to also. But I havent agreed. Therefore I will speak up on behalf of the defence of the gospel and Christianity, and others better start doing it too.

Yes. We need to put God back in the schools. Bible classes need to be offered and students should be able to bow their heads and pray. God bless you.
