I wasn't brought up strictly Christian but wandered into a church now and then. Believed it somewhat until I couldn't believe it anymore and became agnostic. Studied Buddhism since 1999 and am now Buddhist.

When I prayed intensely to Jesus,he sent me to the Krishnas!True!
As the Lord really guides one when the request is sincere!
I was quite happy withinthe ashram, and learned that:

1. Animals are also sentient living beings, especially cows, slaughtered daily in thousands just to plese the tongue.

2. Krishna or Christna or Christ is the surname or father of Jesus, who was also vegetarian[an Essene] [essenespirit.com]

3.The christian diet is satanic, bloody, cruel, and such christians will never realise God,as long as they kill[THOU SHALT NOT KILL!]

4. Alcool is forbidden,as it troubles the mind, and Jesus never change water into wine.

5. I learned also about the abominable history of the church, inquisitions & other horrors, and so the following leaders are also wrong.

I'm a former Christian.

Actually, it's just that I no longer categorize my beliefs into names like "Christian" and "non-Christian". I retain many of the beliefs and hints of altruism that self-proclaimed Christians do, but I just don't call myself by the specific name.

It's not about belonging to the club. It's about carrying out the tasks and making the world a better place.

Former Byzantine Catholic here, changed to Buddhist after years of regular studies and analytical studies of philosophy, religions and the history of religions. I consider the concept of the omnipotent creator being to be illogical, so as a Buddhist I'm essentially atheist.

A very good friend of mine was raised in a Catholic family, was very sincerely trying to realize what's God relationship with everyone, was very active in church. Her search finally brought her to a Hare Krishna temple in Peru, She is practicing Krishna Consciousness seriously now, and told me that she also started understanding and appreciating the Bible more. On her altar at home along with the pictures of Vaishnava saints she also keeps a picture of Jesus Christ.

My story is alot like Sybil_the_sooth sayer, wandered into a church every now and again, looked for Christ, asked himinto my heart and all that jazz, he didn't come, felt like scum for not really believing, realized I shouldn't be in a religion that made me feel that way, and I left it. I'm kind of in-between religions right now though, agnostic and doing research.

very former--I was raised Lutheran, but was already shopping around in high school. It took a decade of homework and trying on different hats, but I found my niche a few years ago in the tribal religions of Africa
