Half of what you're eating in your 6 meals should be fruits/veggies. Then try adding anything whole grain (pasta, sandwich, etc.) Eat a starch (banana, potatoe) at one of your meals, a protein at another meal (egg, meat).
Keep in mind the Food Guide to Healthy Living. If you divide up your meals and their guides, you'll get a pretty good idea of what you should be eating per day.

Yes, it is better, because when you eat three meals, once you get hungry it means your body is already storing some fat (which is what it will do waaay worse in starvation mode) but if you eat 6 meals, even when ur not hungry, your body will not prep for starving, keep burning cals, and you will stay thinner. Eat small meals though, try to eat protein with each one (helps keep metabolism up) and a fruit or veggie and then maybe w/ two of them some carbs and dairy. Just make healthy choices, and drink water with each of your meals. Good luck!

This is what my schedule looks like:
Meal 1 Around 6:30-7am oatmeal or cereal
Meal 2 Around 8:30-9am Peanut butter and Jelly sandwhich (I'm hypoglycemic so I need the protein).
Meal 3: Around 11am one peice of fruit with a small thing of yogurt
Meal 4:Around 1pm (this one is always my biggest meal) a lean cusine dinner, or soup and salad, or sandwich and chips, 1/4 lb hamburger with chips and fruit or salad, fish tacos with a side of beans etc.
Meal 5: Around 4pm: I usually just eat a light snack like a mini bag of popcorn or a snack pack pudding.
Meal 6: Around 6pm: My dinners I keep light and simple. I usually eat one of those pre-packaged tuna things that have the tuna light mayo, relish and crackers. or I will eat a salad with some kind of meat in it like a chef salad or a chicken ceasar salad.
Thats about it. You just have to get creative with your meals and set up a schedule. It will seem like you are always eating wich is good because it never lets you feel like you are starving. when you eat more offten it reduces the chance that you will over eat.

Yes you need 3 meals a day and then a good snack in between each meal and before bed. This helps keep your blood sugar more level so your body works better. Eat your regular 3 meals like you do know but eat small portions and in between eat things like fruit, yogurt, nuts, string cheese. cheese and crackers, peanut butter on cracker or veggies and things of this nature.

eating health is fairly easy...if you have to consume 1500 cals a day you divide that by the number of meals that you want to consume:
1,500 / 6 = 250 cals per meal
* for most people that don't have physically active jobs a high carb intake is simply not needed most for 40% carbs is plenty and for women 20% fats is the minimum so that leaves 40% protein
1,500 x .4 = 600 cals from protein (4 cals per gram) = 150
1,500 x .4 = 600 cals from carbs (4 cals per gram) = 150
1,500 x .2 = 300 cals from fats (9 cals per gram) = 33
* at night carbs are not needed as activity is low so make the first 4 meals with carbs and the last 2 with out
150 / 6 = 25 grams of protein per meal
150 / 4 = 37.5 grams of carbs
33 / 2 = 15 grams of fats
meals 1-4 get 25 grams of protein and 37.5 grams of carbs
meals 5-6 get 25 grams of protein and 15 grams of fats
* now you have to pick the food items that supply the nutrients needed for each meal.

The human body is designed to eat bulk, not small high energy foods such as burgers. So yes, grazing is a good way of feeding the body. I would suggest what you eat now, but in much smaller portions.

I just wish I could remember to eat one or two a day. It has been 20 years since I have had a hunger pang so I don't even realize I am hungry.

actually the term "Meal" makes one think of a massive sit down deal....eating several times thru the day keeps your metabolism active and burning...pretzels, fruit, raw veggies, a protein shake, a cup of cereal, a handful of raisins....grazing is more like what they mean....eat healthy several times a day..also..its very important to keep hydrated ..thats the key to weight loss..
