Allow yourself a beer each day, and then find alternative beverages. Cutting out everything you enjoy simply increases the chances that your diet will fail, so don't give it up, but cut back to ONE!

Try Bacardi or vodka with a diet mixer.

If you would rather beer/lager try sticking to just 1 or 2 bottles a day rather than cans or pints as this will reduce your consumption. Or even avoid alcohol all week and just choose 1 night a week to have a drink. But you need to make sure you have a healthy diet besides.

Like most people on here has said beer is one of the worst alternatives as it has a lot of calories, try drinking wine or white spitits like vodka, gin or rum as it contains less calories. You'll drink less of it as it has a higher alcohol content and also you tend to mix it with mixers which is better better for you. Dark spirits contain more toxins and takes longer for your body to process which means it spends less time burning off the fat and the food you're eating basically as it is focussing on clearing your body of the alcohol.

I like to have a good night out but to still be able to loose weight I cut down to one big night out a week (I occationally have one or 2 small glasses of wine with a meal on top of that but that's it). You'll look forward to it more, your tollerance level will drop so you'll drink less and you will feel much better for it.

Good luck!

No, I just down on food to compensate for excessive booze.

On a serious note, low-cal booze is vodka and slim-line tonic. Wine is also better than beer.

Kaliber is only 79 calories a can. White wine with soda or diet lemonade is about the same at 77 a measure.

Beer is about the worst alcohol for calories, along with sugary alcopops so avoid those. Try spirits with sugar-free mixers, or maybe wine- wine's not ideal but better than beer

I do, it's mosty because my boyfriend likes too at the weekend and i just want to be sociable. I have lost weight when drinking alcohol but it really does slow the process down alot, i'd say stick to something like diet coke and vodka if you really wan't to drink.
