sometimes our bones go out and we don't remember why. Sometimes our bones are moved when we enter the world for the first time. My son had a couple bones pulled outta position when he was being born.
The best person to figure out what is wrong with your neck is a Kinesiologist. We only have a couple people practicing in my area. One is called a kinetic Chiropractor and the other is a homeopathic Kinesiologist. They can find things wrong with your body/system better than anyone.
I had an injury when I was a young person. 30 yrs later my back was a wreck. I had several treatments over the span of 2 years. With the help of my kinesiologist my bones (ribs in my back) finally stayed in the positon that was intended for them. I did see a regular chiropractor and an acupuncturist for the 2 years prior and they never came close to moving the bones into the correct positions.
Also you would probably benefit from self acupressure. There are lots of books regarding self acupressure.
Good luck.

Hmm, I have back pain and neck pain (scoliosis though...) and it affects my whole body. What I've done which has helped immeasurably, is to do Iyengar Yoga. It keeps me flexible, strong, and in alignment. I don't depend on drugs for my pain (I used to have to take ibuprofin a lot) and I have little to no pain. The one thing that happens to me though is that I tend to sit in front of a computer and get neck pain from hunching over.
Iyengar Yoga in particular focuses on alignment, so if you start noticing your alignment, posture, etc in yoga, you start to carry it over into the rest of your life. If you do decide to do yoga (it is a lot of work, but you'll probably be out of pain), make sure you stick with Iyengar, make sure you go to someone with LOTS of experience who works in a studio (not the gym), make sure you are comfortable with the person and the that they won't push you beyond your limits. Pain is NOT gain EVER. Anywho, it's a bit more work, and it takes a bit of time to work, but if you stick with it, you'll feel way better.
Type Iyengar Yoga and your city into a search engine and find someone with lots of experience! Ask a friend, look in the phone book... Good luck! Yoga has worked the best for me when I did it properly. When I did yoga with lousy teachers before I knew better, I tended to hurt more....

You may have long and skinny neck.Sleep flat without pillows as well as try to sleep in plain.More so you are telling , that the pain is radiating or moving to other parts of the body, please check with either with a neurologist or with nefrology, this may due to kidney or neurological deficit or may due to spondylyties, check up with ortho also.

I agree with teach, you should see a chiropractor for this problem. They are the best for neck problems. I've enclosed a website where you can find a chiropractor in your area.

Go to a young chiropractor with the latest education to fix your problem! Should have been done a long time ago - it'll take a while, but you'll feel lots better!
