let's run down all the laws that are u.s. laws, biblical laws, and see if there's any contradiction between the two. and remember "in god we trust" and "one nation under god" are not laws. ok? me first.

biblical laws - commandments 1-5 are all about worshiping one god, however u.s. law grants us all the freedom of religion
in the first amendment.

who's next?

here's another one. it's a federal law that you can't kill the bald eagle, yet in the bible man has domain over all the creatures in the world.

ryan s, how do we maintain our laws? through punishment of disobedience? the laws of "god" are no different. you can't say there is no punishment for not believing in god? also there is no such thing as "capitolism". perhaps you mean capitalism. capitalism is a word which refers to our economic system and had nothing to do with the death penalty. or perhaps you meant capital punishment. your response is so full of errors and misunderstanding that i take it you don't have a good grasp of this subject. i suggest you go back to school and learn some more...

It's the Ten Commandments of a primitive desert tribe

Versus

The Ten Amendments to the Constitution, The Bill of Rights.

Couldn't be more different.

First Commandment = No other Gods before me.

First Amendment = Freedom of Religion.

The contradiction you brought up about worshiping one God isn't a contradiction at all. For that to be so the government would have to force us to worship one God. In fact in this case the government is doing exactly what God does, which is allow us the freedom to choose other god's if we want. God doesn't force us to worship him he just says that we should because he is the only true God. The same goes for what Depth of Perception said - God says we shouldn't covet, but he still gives us the freedom to choose to do so. Now there are things such as capitolism (death penalty) that arguably (haven't decided how I feel about this yet) go directly against what God says only because the government themselves are the ones who are killing people. The government is deciding they no longer have the right to remain on this earth. I tend to lean towards that that should be up to God. Who knows though?

All law, written in stone or in ink, is to be "done away", "put away" as the "put off", "abolished", even to the point of "blotting out" what is AGAINST us: 1Cor 5, 7, 13; 2Cor 3; Eph 2, 4; Col 2,3; 1Tim 1, Heb 9; 2Pet1; For by the using of ordinances(laws) "all perish", so "touch not, taste not, handle not" such "dung": Colossians 2:20-22; Philippians 3:8.

Not to mention law = ministration of death: 2Cor3:7;
And new F5 Law Harvestors cut a mile wide swath.
Selah America now experiencing Tornado watches.

Law worketh wrath: Romans 4:15
God hath not appt'd us to wrath(law): 1Thess 5:9
Which things are an "allegory": Galatains 4

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
