They do clean them. I had a couple friends who worked at McDonald's and weekly they would have to go in EARLY to get them cleaned. So yes, they clean them weekly. BTW... the people that do it are really skinny!!! lol Hope this helps.

Also.. they do go through them daily to make sure there is nothing in them but a deep cleaning (sanitizing and what not) gets done every week. Unless someone has an accident or something then they do it sooner.

Okay, the main reason I want to answer this question is because you may receive some answers from people saying some things that aren't true about play areas. They are false stories about ball pits in McDonald's & Burger King. Let me give you these links. It does advise near the bottom of these articles to ask about the areas because some not so great things do turn up in ball pits. Good luck!

i worked at mcdonalds a long time ago and as sad as this sounds i never remember anyone cleaning the actual play area just the floor and tables around them .the best thing to do is give your child a bath as soon as they get home after playing there.

I never trust the play area at McDonalds! I won't allow my girls to play in them! I try to avoid those McDonalds as much as possible! The worst germs are found in the ball pits and the tubes are hard for an adult to get into!! I would not trust them at all!

Not certain, but I believe these toy areas are scheduled to be cleaned by McDonalds maintenance people on a regular basis.

Yes they do clean the play areas there they are required to clean it once daily and have to do tests on all of the equipment once a week to make sure there are no viruses.

yes they do get cleaned lots. they have to really watch the play area now because of the kids that ended up sick or dieing in the ball pits.

I doubt it's very clean, but if you wash your kid's hands and don't let them play in there too long, I think they'll be okay. I always carry a small bottle of purell with me.

I think you can ask the manager of the restaurant, as he or she has a good idea of how often the place gets cleaned and what the laws call for.

I am pretty sure they pressure wash the play area once a day. When each resturant does this is beyond me.
