Cherish the memories and move on. There was probably a good reason that he's your EX. We tend to only remember the good things about an ex-love. Try and remember why you broke up.

Depends on who broke it up. If he did, then the ball is in
his court. Once we've loved someone, their presence is
always with us in some way, but taking precious time away
from your life now, mulling over it, can seriously interfere
with any potential new romances. I wasted a whole year
once on this to my infinite regret.
