Many people seem to think that running their mouths to voice their political opinions as some sort of sacrifice.

If they were not complaining about the war they would be complaining about something else.

It's very true that most of us have not had to sacrifice anything so far in this War. I guess that the same could be said about Korea and Vietnam. I believe that the population should have to sacrifice when our Armed Forces are deployed. Since our National Guard has become the International Guard during the Bush Administration I think that a "Home Guard" should be employed using those of us that have served our country in past wars. Many of us would be proud to serve again and fill in the hole that has been caused by the activation of our National Guard. I'm sure that there are other sacrifices that can be made by the citizenship of this country.

Americans who are not in the military or are not military family members have been asked to sacrifice very little for this war. We certainly have not been asked to pay for it....that sacrifice will delayed for years, or passed on to our children and grandchildren. This is very different from World War II, when the whole nation was asked to get behind the war efforts.

My children and I have lost two and a half years of our lives that could have been spent with my husband and their father. I went through a pregnancy and birth all by myself, my family was no where near me since we go stationed so far away from them. The children didn't get to have a father for a long long time, and every time they would see other little children with their daddies, they always asked why he had to be away for so long. I lived in fear, every second of every day. I got wrinkles and grey hair from being afraid so much, not that I care, that just tells you at 24 just how scared I was. Everytime someone knocked at the door, I dreaded opening it to find a man in uniform to tell me my husband was dead. My children were afected mentally, my youngest thought daddy had left us and was never coming back, he didn't understand war, even though I had a huge world map to show him where daddy was, he held a lot of anger towards him for a long time. And now that we are just now functioning as a real family again, he is going to be deployed for another 15 months. He has made huge sacrifices as well, more than myself or my children could ever make, but you asked what we as family have done. I could type on and on, but I am getting upset just thinking of all of this

I have friends and family in the military but I still don't see why I should support the war for oil. As for sacrifices, we make them every day because we have no choice. It is being imposed upon us by our government.

It sort of depends on what you believe in. If you are Christian, you would most likely say that Jesus took the bigger sacrifice. If you are Greek and is not a Christian, you would most likely say Prometheus took the bigger sacrifice. We kind of have to look at in a bigger way too. Yes, Jesus did have a shorter time period of torture than Prometheus did, but getting nailed to a piece of wood, then being whipped repeatedly must be, and no doubt is, very VERY painful. Prometheus having to suffer longer is correct too, but he only had his liver eaten by an eagle once everyday. I am one hundred percent sure that getting your liver eaten right out of you is super painful, Prometheus only had to experience it once, every single day, so he had sometime to recover before his liver got eaten once again. And then religion comes along again. Most or all Christians would say Jesus since they believe or think that he helped them thrive by dying for man's sins. Most or all Greeks would say Prometheus since they believe or think that he helped them thrive by stealing fire for mankind's good. I would say, since I'm not Christian nor am I Greek, its kind of a tie. Prometheus did suffer a lot longer than Jesus did, but only in short bursts. Jesus did suffer a lot less than Prometheus did, but had his beating all at once. Jesus died for our sins, but now remains as the God for a religion and is up in the heavens right now over looking all if humanity, "cleansing us of sin" (that's you're sentence I used there!). Prometheus (since he is immortal) is still up ashore on that rock, getting his liver eaten out by an eagle. All though, in other Greek myths, he eventually got saved be Hercules (or Heracles). It really depends on who you are and what you believe in. So there really is no telling of who made the bigger sacrifice, Jesus or Prometheus. Hope this helped!

you'd be surprised what i hand shake and a "thank you" will do for a soldier, my husband gets it from strangers a lot and it gives him A LOT of support, thats all that is needed, you don't have to be related or know somebody
