That happened to me when I was little. Only my cat ate a baby bird that I was trying to save. Yeah it's sad... but really you cannot be upset with the cat for being a cat. There is nothing you can do besides move on and if you get another rabbit try to be more careful. Sorry for your loss.

That is a cat's natural instinct to hunt and kill, especially rodents. There is nothing you can or should do about it. Although yesterday I did see a rabbit chasing a cat.

Love your cat no matter what. You should have kept them
apart. The cat didn't know better. It only saw the rabbit as
food.

I'm so sorry! I know you must feel very bad!!

Your cat however, was just being a cat.

Don;t be too angry at her -- she as just being a cat -- and doesn;t realize that she has made you very sad!!

ASo keep your kitty-- BUT if you get another rabbit or another small critter, please keep it in a VERY secure cage AWAY from the cat (OR a Dog, if you have a dog too)

You need to rephrase your sentence. Instead of saying "My cat ate my baby rabbit" You need to say to yourself "I let my cat eat my baby rabbit" Now what are we going to do about you?

Well, I would naturally be very sad, but unfortunately, that is just your cat's natural instinct. He shouldn't be punished for killing the bunny because that's just what cats are hardwired to do. My dog is always trying to chase and kill wild bunnies in our neighborhood, and if he ever does get one, I will be so sad, but it's just his nature, just like it's your cat's nature to do things like that. Sorry about your bunny.

HONEY your cat was just doing natural things that cats will do.they look at gerbles' rabbits and mice as prey and it;s in the genes,,,sorry you lost your bunny 'but he went fast and didn;t suffer at all....lol

Nothing. Your cat was simply being a cat. Perfectly natural. You should have never let them near each other.

there's nothing you can do. certainly don't blame the cat because it was your own fault for keeping predator and prey in the same vincinity. this happened with my dog and one of my small parrots some years ago so i know how you feel. just don't make the same mistake again.
