Do they really live on camels?..

No. They are found in the desert thus the name. They aren't really a spider though. They look like a spider/scorpion mix. They aren't all that big either so the picture of the soldiers with the dinner-plate sized spiders are fake. They are nocturnal so they are out mostly at night. If you see one following you it's just because it is trying to keep cool by staying in your shadow. The are freaky looking. Google them and see for yourself.

NO - this story of camel spiders have been around for a few years now. It has been definitively disproved.

They are NOT spiders and they DO NOT live on camels !

Imagine finding one of those in your sleeping bag! It's happened before. Their bite releases a local anesthetic so you don't know they're doing anything to you.

They actually live IN camels...in there intestinal tract to be exact!
