I think a person should be able to believe whatever they like. They may think it is more rational to believe that things happen purely by chance, or they may have had bad experiences in their lives which cause them to believe no higher being would force them to suffer as they have. I've noticed that some of the ones who become atheists, or at least doubters, are the ones who were raised in the most strict religions as children, not the ones who were encouraged to come to their own conclusions. They may have turned their backs on organized religion as much as anything.

There are frequent debates not only between atheists and theists, but also among atheists on the subject of religion. Why? Because there is no unanimity among atheists on religion. Different atheists believe different things about the value, nature, and future of religion and religious beliefs. It’s impossible to ascribe one overarching position about any aspect of religion to all atheists or even most atheists. Atheists are as diverse on this issue as are theists.

There is no god. What drives me to write and think that? Intelligence. I have it and people who believe in a god of any sort are fools, and dangerous ones at that. What else? I have free will.

And this question shouldn't have been posted here.

I find it bad.

As an idea which I got from religion category, atheits want definite evidences (like in the science) about existing of human, for example. You know, there is no evidence other than Allah's sayings in religion, so they can't find and don't believe in a religion. And they find Allah's sayings as a fairy tale.Because they can't find scientifical evidences from Allah.

But of corz, I respect to that belief too.

For BIRD: Ok u don't have to believe in something but it doesn't mean u can see small or hate someone because of his/her belief (bakınız: jenny adlı bir annenin sorusu) Nobody is bigger or more beautiful than someone in this world.

im an atheist myself so... :)
I was never raised to believe in any God, but to believe in whatever I choose to believe. And so-I chose physics instead of God. Ive read the Bible and agree with most of the stuff but i dont like what todays Church is like: corrupt, and against abortion and homosexuals. and I HATE how women are treated.

Religion causes so many problems. Look around you.
The Catholic church protects pedophiles, Muslim women are treated like second class citizens and all non believers are infidels who must be defeated....the list goes on.
Some of the most narrow minded, bigoted people I have met call themselves Christians and defend their racist, sexist views with their bible teachings.

Religion is a way for men to control others - usually the weak, vulnerable, poor and needy.
Its a way for them to push their agenda onto you - look at current politics regarding abortion, gay rights, birth control, medical science, teaching evolution in schools...

Meanwhile this so called loving God lets our children die. Bad things happen to good people, and criminals get away scot free... but its OK, God is just testing you.
And don't forget, you are promised a place in Heaven, Maybe. There's no proof.

Rely on yourself, not some otherworldly scam.

It's just a different way to find the meaning of life. Some people have put their faith in a higher being. Some people don't need that in order to feel secure.

If God exists and is omnipotent, it is Him that drives me into not believing. How dare you question His doing?

Hah! You want logic, I give you logic.

The truth...and the studies on it...The science, and the logic...
The religions for me are the opium of the mankind...
