My family is going to Michoacan, Mexico. It is my 10 year old son and my first time out of the good ole USA. I'm a little nervous. Is it true that the water down there is not good to drink?

There's something called "Vaccines for Children" or VFC. It's a gov't-funded public health program that provides vaccines free or cheap to kids. Ask your primary care physician or pediatrician about VFc and if they can hlep you get subsidized Hep A&B vax. Otherwise, your local public health clinic may be able to help. Call them and see if Hep A&B vax are available. Usually, Hep B vaccines are free for kids (but $$$ for adults!). Hep A is not generally required for schools, so it is not discounted as often.

The local health dept. usually has the cheapest and safest vaccine...they may even send you to the nearest military base for the shot. Don't panic if they do...military has good vaccines.
