I doubt that they will dismantle the Boardwalk, but, at the end of this summer, most buildings on Surf Avenue will be torn down. Astroland has been sold. The mayor said he would like to build a huge mall, theatres, hotels and he wants to run a ferry from Manhattan to Sheepshead Bay to bring tourists to the "new" Coney Island. Great idea. Has he told anyone what he plans to do with all the people living in the projects, bungalows and old houses? Coney Island, today, is a dreadful, crime-ridden neighborhood. Where are they going to move the slums to???

The usual repairs. That area is always going under some sort of repairs, mostly road work. Coney Island around Surf Avenue is kind to be dangerous at night. I'm sure the rich would love to have an ocean view, but the ocean view is usually reserved for those living in the housing complex along the ocean. Also Steeplechase Pier is still there and thriving.

Sadly, the rich, like Trump, have no connection to our 'rich 'past. Spent my childhood there. Loved Steeplechase, parachute jump!!! Nathans, they are raping us of history!!!
