It is the most natural thing to do - an instinctive response really. Apparently, the love experts say it is much more enjoyable to kiss with your eyes open because then you can not only feel but see the extent of the emotions evoked in the eyes of who you are kissing and vice versa. Personally, go with whatever feels natural to you. The last thing you want is to force your eyes to stay open and end up looking like a fish!

Its natural to close your eyes while kissing. It allows you to focus on the sense of touch, mainly the lips unless your hands are busy also. With your eyes shut they other senses are in control. It allows for a more sensual kiss. If you don't believe me go to your girlfriend and explain your experiment and kiss with your eyes open.

Oh and just in case anyone even reads this far. That first answer was not deserving of all those thumbs up. Some of that was just ridiculous.
- Sensory overload.... what the hell its the exact oposite. The kiss is weaker. Unless your in bed. Then its hot to stare into someones eyes.

To be able to better feel the passion of the moment. By closing the eyes all distractions from the act of kissing someone are eliminated. Your only focus in that instant is the feeling generated from the kiss.

When couples are kissing the eyes close automatically to feel the sweetness of the kiss to show affection for each other. There's no thrill kissing looking at each other. Try it.

Hard to focus when ur that close to someone... and if you're not looking at them you are being distracted by other things that a) take away fromt he sensation and b) you probably shouldn't be looking at!

Shutting off one sense serves to heighten the sensitivity of the others... this is why blind people can often hear better than sighted and use their fingers to read and 'see' faces and why lovers sometimes blind-fold each other...

Not all couples close their eyes all the time. You should try looking your partner in the eyes while kissing some time. It is very, very hot and intimate.

Kissing is a skin-to-skin touch pleasure. It is the "SPARSH" which is sensitive in the action. No other human sense-hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting, is actvated in kissing. And thus no need of opening any other organ e,g, eye, ear, tounge, nose etc. To have complete pleasure we have to close ourselves from every other side. exceot "TOUCH". Opening or closing eye have no relevance here. But can have optimum if close our eyes.

I believe not all of them close eyes when they're kissing, it really depends on how you like to experience the feeling, and one another thing I guess when the distance between 2 faces getting such close, you see their face as altered and looking weird.

Because staring at someone that close up is kinda rude, and can spoil a moment. Doesn't mean you can't kiss with your eyes open, it's just more comfortable not.
