I tried millions of times but says "The source filter for this file could not be loaded."
wat do i do?

.dat files are designed to run from DVDs only. Rather then copy over the dat file, you need to use a "ripper" and convert the file to a PC format before WMP can use it.

a dat file only contains info about the file your trying to play, open it by right clicking it and selecting wordpad from the list youll see that its just words n stuff

just reverse click ( right click) on the file..then click open with, then select Windows Media Player...
Done.. : )

if it's a movie .dat format, it can be palyed using wmp.
