Yeah I agree. I get lots of thumb downs on some of my answers too. They don't do anything really. Thumb ups are added to your score if you ge the best answer as well as the 10 points.
I'm glad they got rid of thumbing up and thumbing down questions. A lot of people used to thumb down my questions too. Now we got something better and I'm gonna give you one.

That's a sweet thought, but it's unlikely you would get everyone to go with it, the ones that you can get on board are the ones that wouldn't do that in the first place, and the ones who do want to behave that way wouldn't care what you are trying to do..... I only generally give a thumbs down to someone who is making a personal attack on someone else.... You are right that some folks arbitrarily give thumbs down to every body else just because, I actually saw a girl admit on here that she gives everyone else thumbs down no matter what thier answer is, because she thinks it will make her answer look better....
Abel, a no bashing day, that would be so lovely,,,,unfortunately it would most likely be lost on the ones that do the most bashing, that's too bad.... I fear Dado's nose picking day would be more successful.....

I don't give a lot of thumbs down, unless they come in the form of a personal attack.

I almost always give a thumbs up to those who answer any of my questions, even if I don't agree with them. If they give what comes across as a valid answer -- even if I think it's nonsense -- I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

It's an opinions forum! Or, did you mean should Christians have a day where everybody agrees with them, seeing as you posted a question that can apply to any category on the religious pages ?

Did you get this idea from some of the UK's pathetic state schools that will not acknowledge failure, only a different level of success?
If you are upset by the thumbs downs, be content with studying the questions and answers of those who are less delicate.

If someone downvotes a remark, it's usually out of actual disagreement; on rare occasion, there are feebs that downvote for the hell of it. Personally, I don't take it seriously.

Good Idea. Shouldn't there be also a "no bashing day?"
Peace and every blessing!
